Dollar for dollar.....TravelPro is made for the long haul!
This good-looking rolling, carry-on suitcase is built to last! That's why TravelPro is a preferred choice of flight attendants and pilots. At the price of suitcases today you can't afford to repeatedly replace cheapo ones, when you'd be better off putting a few more dollars toward one that will securely and handsomely take you anywhere in the world--for a very long time.I chose the rollaboard style (2 wheels) as opposed to spinners (4 wheels) which are not as sturdy and durable especially over uneven pavement and cobblestones. And the softside fabric exterior won't show rough handling as much as shiny, hard plastic luggage. The quality and features really shine throughout:--SO lightweight it will be easy to place in overhead bins.--This particular bag has been repeatedly proven to fit within sizing limitations for all domestic and most international airlines.--More packing volume than a "spinner".--Expandable! Although utilizing that feature may negate it fitting in an overhead bin.--Comfortable handle (adjustable height) and smooth rolling wheels.--Sturdy, heavy duty smooth running zippers--Spacious, well-thought out interior and exterior compartments, and convenient exterior storage for a laptop.--Awesome warrantyVERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!Dollar for dollar.....this one is made for the long haul....not like a flash in the pan suitcase that looks shiny and new, but will need replacing in a couple of years because it is not made of the tough stuff like TravelPro.

Perfect for serious travel
Decades long frequent traveler. This meets requirements of domestic and international carriers for carryons. The bag is well built from sturdy yet lightweight materials. This is for serious travel: the two wheel option is good on cobble stone in Paris or Kyoto. If you are the kind of traveler who travels once a year domestically and all you do is wheel it from terminal A to terminal B, a spinner (four wheels) may be better for you. Also, domestically you can generally get away with a slightly larger bag (21 in or even 22 in). But for serious travel this is perfect: It is lightweight, has two wheels (not four) which works well in rugged environments and maximizes pay load dimensions (four wheelers waste space, you loose one inch) and importantly you will not be asked to check the carryon when traveling internationally.

A smooth & balanced piece of luggage that holds more due to the two wheeled system
This luggage rolls so nice and easy and has the two wheels vs the spinners that it allows the case to hold more items and still fit almost every airline that measures a carry on. It has a firm and nice extendable handle that allows for a nice balanced load. The pockets and zippers work nicely and have ample room for extra items. I am extremely pleased go have this and look forward to using it on my trips.

The nifty light carry on
I would’ve given this luggage five stars, but the fact that it only had two wheels bothered me and I was going by an influencer to get this carry-on. As far as everything else it was wonderful very lightweight. It held a lot for its size. It passed inspection at the airport for a carry-on. I use Southwest and American. I’m sure if it was four wheels it would be bigger and it may possibly have been too big to take on board so that’s a consideration all in all it was very good luggage.

Solid carry-on for traveling
For foreign travel I work with a large checked duffel combined with a small carry-on for "don't want to check" items. My old 18" carry-on finally wore out and needed a replacement. So I bought the Maxlite 20 inch as a replacement...very nice suitcase with good lockable zippered compartments, good rolling wheels, good handle, and light weight...very comfortable to use and wheel around...and looks and feels like solid long-lasting construction. However, it's substantially larger and double the weight of my old 18" carry-on, so I'd prefer a smaller model also be available. I used this 20" on a trip to Tahiti. Then I was faced with an internal US trip over 4th of July with highly likely plane cancellations...no time to be stuck with checked luggage...can't afford to have your luggage trapped in a cancelled flight. For that trip, I quickly ordered the Maxlite max-carry-on size 22" to try and get everything into that carry-on plus a small backpack. It worked...got everything in...using its expanding feature....and yes our return plane was cancelled and having everything carry-on saved the day as we had to re book on a different carrier to get home after we'd already checked and had boarding passes on our original flight. The 22 inch Maxlite is not that much larger than the 20 inch, but I guess it's at the airline limit for carry-ons. It works very well, with just a few minor nits.Good Points: Zippers work smoothly and are lockable; Nice interior zippered folio-sized compartment under the lid for papers and thin items. Nice exterior folio-sized compartment on the exterior of the lid easily holds lap-top computer with easy access during security check-in and is lockable. Wheels work smoothly and are well tucked in so they don't get in the way. Main compartment is expandable...nice feature that I used. Just fit straight-in in large-plane overhead bin. Handle works smoothly...good length. Solid-feeling construction...hopefully providing long life. Slate green is a VERY nice color.Weak Points: Small exterior pocket on lid side is too small and tight to access and is unlockable....it's useless...but no big deal...I would have just left it off and saved a little weight. As another minor nit...I would reverse the lid hinge line to the other side of the suitcase so the lid opens to the back when the wheels are on the right and handle on the left. I found I was constantly having to rotate the suitcase after having put it on the stand or bed...but that may be just what I'm used to.No other significant distractions...nice suitcase for my needs.

Lightweight but well-built
Note: The color selection when I purchased this bag (and as of this writing, still on the website) says the bag is "Slate Green", but it is actually black. The manufacturer mentioned in the Q&A that this bag does not come in green. The exterior overall dimensions for the International Expandable Rollaboard are: 21.5" x 15.75" x 7.75", which equals 45 linear inches (55x40x20cm = 115 cm). This fits the current carry-on requirements for many airlines. The interior dimensions are 20" x 15" x 7.75", and the weight is 5.4 lbs. The label says the volume is 45 liters.I already own the Osprey Ozone 18"/36 L Wheeled Luggage, Black that I LOVE as a carry-on, but, but I wanted another bag that would fit most carry-on requirements but also be sturdy enough to check it. (The Ozone is really well made, but because the shell is soft (like a backpack), things inside might get crushed.)The Travelpro bag looks like it will be perfect. It seems very sturdy and well-built, including the well-padded fabric handles on the top and side. The wheels also look very solid. The expansion section is a nice feature, although using it may exceed size requirements for a carry-on for some airlines. Nice for having a little extra space if that's not an issue. Besides the main opening for the interior, there is a large outside zippered pocket that is the full length of the top flap (I don't have a laptop, but it looks like it would probably hold up to a 17" laptop), and also a smaller zippered compartment that is about 6.5" deep. Great for keeping your boarding pass or anything else you want quick access to.The interior is a light-colored plaid fabric, which I prefer to black since it's easier to see things in it. There's a large mesh pocket on the top flap, and a small interior pocket on one side of the main compartment. This particular piece also comes in a "spinner" version Travelpro Luggage Maxlite 5 International Expandable Spinner Suitcase Carry-On, Black, which has 4 wheels on casters instead of the 2 inline wheels. I know a lot of people like spinners because of the ease of pushing them around in any direction, but I chose the rollaboard over the spinner for several reasons: casters are more likely to get broken than inline wheels, I don't have to worry about my luggage rolling away if I'm on a slope, and I find the 2-wheeled bags easier to control over uneven surfaces. But most important, for the same exterior height, rollaboards have more interior space than spinners because of the extra space required for casters. As a comparison, the interior dimensions for the spinner model are 18 x 15 x 7.75, which is 2" less in height than the rollaboard. That's a difference of about 232 square inches, and in a small bag, every little bit helps. Plus the exterior dimensions for the spinner are actually slightly bigger than the rollaboard, at 21.75" high instead of 21.5" high (same width/depth). That makes the total linear measurement of the spinner 45.25", which slightly exceeds some airline maximums of 45".

Legs broke in one trip - it's junk
REVISED 2/24/24: I thought I'd add a photo of my homemade repair for the broken legs. It's a 6" piece of wood 2x2 (actual dimensions 1.5x1.5 inches) screwed on from the inside with 4 short deck screws and washers. I wanted a slightly longer piece but this was what I had and it works. I first sanded the edges round, then spray painted it black. Then I drilled pilot holes from the inside, then marked and drilled smaller pilot holes in the wood. It held up for the same 4-flight trip that broke the original legs last fall.FYI, Travelpro sent me replacement legs, no instructions, and their install video is several years and models old. No offer to have the thing repaired at a shop. And what's the point in installing the same legs that will just immediately break again? This company really doesn't care anymore.REVISED 2/13/24: My previous review (below) was absolutely mistaken. When I pulled this out for another trip today I realized that both legs were already, after ONE trip this past fall, breaking off (see photo). So this new version of the Maxlite is complete junk. AVOID it completely!Previous Review:I bought this to replace a previous Maxlite version in a slightly larger size. This one held up fine packed to full airline allowance of 50 pounds on a recent trip. However, it is clearly made of flimsy materials and I won't be surprised if it doesn't last as long as the previous one, which became unusable when the rigid plastic lining started disintegrating into shards and a wire stay poked through the back cover. And the major deficiency of the new one is the replacement of a usable plastic handle at the bottom of the old version (for two arm wrestling of the bag into a car or onto a luggage stand) with a fabric flap on the new one that's not big/deep enough for a proper grip. Oh, and as other reviews have noted, the wheels appear to be a less durable design that will be difficult to repair when they break. Overall it's O.K., but like many other products the newer versions are not as good, made more cheaply, and are more expensive.

Lightweight and recommended by a flight attendant!
My brother in law who works for a major airlines suggests this bag as a carry on because it fits no matter whiat airline you fly. I watched it for months and decided to give it a try for my last trip. She is lightweight and the zipper quality is top notch. I liked the wheels on the bag because they are higher quality and they will be durable. Easy to maneuver in the airport. The color wasn’t my first choice but it was on sale and I didn’t want black since everyone has black. I wanted to stand out so I would know it was my bag. I’m glad I got it. The inside of the bag has a zipper pouch and the lining also can be opened up so you can put your shoes in there away from your clothes. The handle is strong too.

Excellent suitcase
Excellent bag at a very good price. Light weight and provides plenty of space. Travelpro invented the two-wheeled roller bag and it shows. Very easy to pull along. The only issue is that the handle is not the smoothest to extend or retract. We have used other Travelpro bags for several years now and they are still going strong.
