Would be better with a simple Aux cable
USB A connection very tight, but it did come with adapter/extension. It looks like it would have broken my cars USB in without the adapter.Only connected to car successfully 1/10 timesYou HAVE to use their app, this isnt optional to get sound workingYou HAVE to have Spotify Premium for it to workIt can only use basic Spotify features, no access to daily mixes or podcasts. (You have to create your own custom playlists beforehand).Very buggy, and even one the one time it worked, wasnt great.

It works contrary to Google reviews! but buggy!!
I have a bmw f30d and the car refuses to recognise my samsung s9 through USB and I'm not able to play spotify. For some reason the car only accepts apple products and apple music. People will say use bluetooth but that does allow me to scroll through playlists without touching my phone.I took a punt with his eventhough some of the reviews were negative on google as I really wanted this to work and.........it works! Once you have downloaded the app and plug the usb into my phone the gromm app opens and acts like a ipod and lets you browse through your playlists and play your music.BUT...it can be buggy at times and refuse to play altogether. Trying to understand this but it reacts differently each time. I think this is because spotify does not sync with the gromm app straight away. I've lifted out of my spotify account on the gromm app and logged in again and it seems to have rectified itself. Will test tomorrow. The album cover art does not work as advertised but not a deal breaker for me.Also the charging on the phone is almost non existent and generally stays on the same battery percentage you got in the car and leave the car. The USB can at times get hot but I thinks it because of one of the positive belowThis thing has a some kind of a GPS and you can actually track where your car is. That's brilliant! And dont know why they dont advertise this. I can sit on the app at home and see where my car is 3 streets down.

Sometimes works as expected...
I am using the cable in my 2016 Ford Mondeo with a Samsung S9. The cable functions as intended a lot of the time, however the connection is sporadic. Often (maybe 40% of the time) the connection doesn't work at all, or the connection is quiet with noticeable audio stuttering. I've contacted GROM Audio and they were polite but were unable to solve the issue after going back and forth for a while. When it is working, the cable functions similarly to if it was an iPhone connected through USB. The sound quality is great but the charging is weak and can only charge around 5% for an hour driving. The DashLinQ app is OK but Spotify is integrated very poorly. For example it is difficult to navigate around Spotify and it doesn't remember if you left shuffle/loop on.Overall I wouldn't recommend this cable for the price, however it appears to be the only one on the market so fingers crossed they can fix the issues in a firmware update somehow.Edit: Updated rating to 4 stars as I have now returned the item and received a full refund with no hassle.
