Great lightweight tripod. Slik Sprint pro 3 way
initial reaction was that the tripod by Slik was well packed and accurately described. I wanted a lightweight tripod which was well made. this fits that very well. I bought a previous tabletop Slik tripod secondhand 40 years ago and its still giving me good service. This quality has, surprisingly, been maintained in this model. if you want a tripod to hold your whacking great big lens and DSLR attached then look elsewhere. You should be buying a big Giotto (which I also have) or Manfrotto tripod etc. I wanted one for carting up fellside for landscape photography (Nikon D90 with wideangle lens) or for photographing wildlife with my 70-300mm lens or my Panasonic V100 HD video camera- perfectly good for these situations. It has its own bag albeit made from quite thin material it does the job holding all the legs together. The tripod comes with a small vertical tilt lever and knob from tilting and packed separately a longer pan and Tilt handle which when fitted allows you to tilt and pan simultaneously. each handle twists to lock. I was careful to choose the 3 way head and not the ball joint head which looked a bit small to carry a DSLR. The tripod extends to full working height. 1.6m. If you can get away with not extending the bottom leg section and extending the centre column you might get more stability. Would like to have seen a small hook to hang a rucksac from to improve stabilty (wouldnt have been too difficult in manufacture. But this is only a minor point. The quick release base provided and makes for asy fixing to the camera. Baseplate albeit quite small is made of metal and feels solid. Each leg has a soft foam grip and feels solid. The tripod's max load is 2 kg. so check the gear you want to use on it is within that limit. Even so some gear under 2kg. which has long lenses attached may not balance well. To summarise: A well made tripod, value for money, compact but fully extends but does have a weight limit to watch.

Useful piece of kit.
This is the second Slik Sprint tripod I have bought. Very useful bit of kit and light enough to carry around with me when needed. You need to remember that it is not intended to be a heavy duty piece of kit - and there are many more expensive tripods that are both heavier and more stable in high winds, and that have more features and will support a greater weight. I use an Olympus E-M1 with a variety of lenses and this set-up works well for me. So my verdict is that for the occasional and walkabout tripod user it is a step up from the Joby Gorillapod (which has no height) and is an outstanding value tripod.

i found the hammered metal finish of the upper legs very nice but soon found out where the weight saving was ...
finally got to mess with this tripod today and i must admit, i was surprised if not slightly worried by the weight of it.After first inspection, i found the hammered metal finish of the upper legs very nice but soon found out where the weight saving was when i extended the rest of the legs. There were of a plastic feel material that was much thinner. But once i cranked it all down steady it seemed pretty good.Next was the neck pole, im not sure i like it. Made it feel a little shakey with a dslr on top so i just whipped it off with the unscrew-able ends. works a treat now.Nice package all round and recommended for the price of 60 quid

Just the job
This is a cracker. The best compromise between light weight and strength I've seen for an "everyday" tripod. Please bear in mind I'm a Panasonic G user, so not super-heavy kit.I'll admit there are days (e.g. windy or when I'm using my longest lens) that I could wish it was beefier, but heck, one tripod can't do everything, on any other day I'd resent the weight of a heavier tripod.

Lightweight and Solid.
After spending hours on the net looking at reviews and shop sites, trying to find a lightweight and solid tripod that wont break the bank, I finally went for this one. Have to same I'm not disappointed, this fits the bill perfectly. I was quite surprised just how light it is, it's about half the weight of my Vanguard Alta tripod and about the same as my Velbon monopod! It also collapses down to a nice compact size to attach to a rucksack, and extends out to be a full height tripod that even though it's lights and initially felt a bit flimsy, (the bottom leg sections are very thin!), it's easily as solid as my Vanguard tripod. It fact I would even go as far as saying it's better!

Tripod
I bought this for my husband for us to take to Italy on our honeymoon we used it a great deal, very valuable piece of equipment for us as both love photography, but coming back Italian customs took it from us and we ended up losing it to them . Were still puzzled as to why as we took it in there in hand luggage so beware if you go to Italy with what you have in hand luggage

Great light weight yet solid tripod
Great little tripod. Bought this to shoot pictures of the Northern Lights and it worked perfectly. It had no problems holding my Nikon D5000 while being on packed snow, ice or powder. Shot some pictures in a light wind and never had balance issues. Pictures turned out great. It comes with it's own carrying case which was a real plus. It's light weight, mobile and easy to get up and down. Overall, I'm very pleased with this tripod.

Good value tripod
For a tripod for the amateur end of the market, it is brilliant. The ability to get down to under a foot to take a steady picture is good.It is light to carry, even comes in its own bag, and is small enough to fit in a suitcase.I bought it to take macro pics, it is certainly better than the Vanguard tripod I'd been using previously. It seems solidly constructed, I've only just got it, but I expect it to last for a while. Its a recommended buy in Digital Camera magazine too, so its not just me who likes it.
