Original Penguin Men's Waylon Oxford Shoe

Looked all around town for a well-made welted leather shoe, but couldn't find any. Took a chance with these on Amazon, and I am very pleased with them. These shoes are a welted construction, and should last a very long time. The soles do not appear to be glued on like they commonly are, so when these wear I will likely be able to have the soles repaired or replaced. Not that I think they will soon, I've worn these for a few weeks already and they wear very slowly.The leather uppers have a bit of a rustic appearance. I ordered the brown color and I would say the leather is like a high-grade working leather, with a few flaws but overall a neat appearance. I treat my casual leather shoes with mink oil to waterproof them, and these shoes take the treatment well. They do leave creases in the bend of the toe, but I don't mind that look. The mink oil helps to minimize this as well.As far as comfort I would say they are quite comfortable, if a bit small for their size. Wear-in took about a week.Overall great bargain on a well-made shoe, I'll update my review in a year's time and speak of their durability.

These shoes are awesome. I tried these on at DSW shoes and fell in love with them. I then do what I always do and check Amazon for them. I found them. They had these and I immediately ordered them since there were only 3 left at that time. These are by far my favorite shoes from my collection. They look great. They feel great. I can wear them all day and not worry about my feet hurting. I have spent twice as much for other shoes, but these are by far that much better. You will not be disappointed. I love the look of the tan shoe with the red around it. I have gotten so many compliments on these. If you are looking at these, GET THEM.

These shoes are well-made and fit as expected. My foot is pretty wide, and these are sufficient for 'M'. Few notable items:- There are only 2 lace holes - this is worth noting as it relates to other characteristics of the shoe- The leather is pretty stiff. If you are looking for a supple leather shoe out of the box, this is not it.- The leather around the heel is also stiff, which brings me to the 2 lace holes - if there were the customary 3 or more, it would help anchor your heel in the shoe during the break-in period. I anticipate this taking a week or 2 of regular wear.- I applied mink oil, and will keep it on hand as this type of leather can scuff pretty easily.None of the above are deal breakers for me, but things to be aware of. Again, the overall craftsmanship appears very solid, they look good, and are pretty comfortable already (2-3 days of wear). Would I consider these all-day walkers? no - but the styling is a nice hybrid of casual/dress. Will wait a bit, but will likely end up getting this shoe in black.

Great shoes! I bought a pair almost 3 years ago at DSW and wore them everyday, all four season, in rain, snow, everything. It was finally time to replace them. Found them here on Amazon for 60% less. Bought the dark brown and the tan. Dark brown were exactly as pictured. Tan were darker than pictured, and the sole is black, not tan. I wish they were as pictured, but it still looks great, and the price has increased 4X since my purchase, so I will be keeping them. Can't recommend this shoe enough for casual dress (not a dress shoe, will get a slightly distressed look, which I prefer), if they go back to $39.99. I'll be watching and waiting to buy them again.

Love the look of these shoes but they absolutely kill my ankles. Doesn’t matter what socks I wear, they cause cuts and blistered. I’ve work these for hours at a time at many events, and even though they get compliments, I am miserable the whole time.

Received product in mint condition. Aside from that, awful product. A lot lighter in colour than the product image and does not fit at all as expected. I bought these for my brother who wears a size 9 yet it fit me perfectly and I'm a size 11 1/2. It was dramatically larger, looked unflattering and felt cheap. Will file for a refund.

Love these shoes. I usually wear them with no-show socks and shorts. Very comfortable. Looks great. I got the canvas in grey and I just got the blue. I probably won't get these in leather just because judging by some reviewers, they crease alot. I have my grey ones for about 6 months and have not noticed any deterioration on the quality. But then again, I don't use these as often.I have been watching these in Amazon and the lowest I've seen them is $45 - just for reference. Great buy and highly recommended!

I bought these shoes to replace a pair of unnamed black dress shoes that I walked through the soles of. I have seen these shoes in person at The Rack but was concerned about reviews I read of discoloration at wear points on the brown version. I finally decided to give these a try in Black and having walked 30 miles in them I cannot say enough about them. I love my Penguins. I walked miles all over Manhattan and didn't have a single issue. Several months of normal office wear and they still look good.A solid 5 stars.
