The pop stratosphere is and always has been crowded. Kylie Minogue has never been one of the crowd. Kylie's newest offering is destined to be an one of the albums that will define her career. With pop classics such as "Kylie", "Impossible Princess", "Fever" and "Aphrodite" preceding it, "Golden" stands as a testament to an old and true career formula, when the market is going right - Kylie will always take a left and create an album that is refreshing, ageless and more importantly, essential Kylie. Her bravest and most successful moments have always went hand in hand. Kylie has never been one to rest on her many achievements and rely solely on her loyal fanbase. "Golden" is an artistic triumph in Kylie's catalog of pop masterpieces. She has managed to take the best elements of forward thinking pop ("Fever"), personal, relatable and confident songwriting ("Impossible Princess") and cohesive, dance anthems ("Aphrodite") from her previous albums and combine them with an acoustic pop thump and bump that collides into an entire new direction and sound for Miss Minogue. Lead single "Dancing" is a trend defying, ear worm of a song that is unlike anything Kylie has done before while maintaining the Kylie magic that has become a hallmark of her music. Pulling on the double meaning of dancing, aging and looking to the future is a stroke of genius on the part of any pop icon and Kylie brilliantly delivers the message loud and clear that while she may be aging gracefully, she isn't anywhere near finished in her progression as an artist who continually brings her very best. Third single "Golden" continues this message. Instead of dodging rampant ageism within her profession and chasing trends, she is choosing to own it and create her own lane once again. The albums three highlights come towards the end of the album. While "Golden" reinvents the Kylie sound, "Raining Glitter" thunders through as classic Kylie. Pure sunshine in audio form and irresistible, "Raining Glitter" has the potential to take on staples such as "Your Disco Needs You" and "Get Outta My Way" as Kylie's most camp classic. The gem of the album comes as the standard edition's closing track, "Music's Too Sad Without You". Melancholy is a rarity for Kylie but, she delivers it better than any other. As a listener, you can hear her heartbreak and loss. While the audience is used to a vibrant and joyful Kylie, "Music's Too Sad Without You" stands with "Ocean Blue" as Kylie at her most vulnerable best. It is truly a stunning moment with the vast catalog Kylie has created and is not to be missed. The last standout is the sparkling, bonus track "Lost Without You". Taking a nod back to the sound of the spacious and "Kiss Me Once", "Lost Without You" gleams with beautiful production and mature songwriting. Had this song not been produced within the more acoustic "Golden" era, "Lost Without You" would have been a major player amongst Kylie's most famous lead singles. Having fought with her record label for the track to be placed on even as a bonus song, it is evident that Kylie's instincts are still as sharp and relevant as ever. Here is hoping that Kylie continues to chase her muse. She has created a timeless, personal and beautiful album.

I never thought I could say what I’m about to say in just a bit… After the first two songs were released for Golden, I was thinking, this could be a really good album. I mean, Dancing, and Stop Me From Falling, they are both excellent pop tunes, and easy radio friendly hits. But after listening to whole album, I just have to say that this is simply HER BEST ALBUM, PERIOD. By recording the album in Nashville, and co-writing all of the songs, Kylie has put the authenticity of the music and lyrics as her number one priority, and the music bears it out. Listening to a beautiful song like Shelby ’68, which is so story-like, it actually puts the lead single in the rear-view mirror – pun intended. It’s been a long time since a Kylie song moved me emotionally like Bittersweet Goodbye, but it happened multiple times with this album!! “Love” will join the ranks as one of the greatest Kylie ballads, easily. “Music’s Too Sad Without You” is a beautiful duet. “Radio On” – a perfect example of this album where Kylie’s vocal is front and center, with minimal production. You actually listen to the song and feel the music, and it just gets you. Amazing. Other songs like, “Sincerely Yours” and “Golden” are instant classics. I could go on and on… but suffice it to say, it’s like Indie Kylie was combined with Dance Kylie, with a dash of Cute Kylie. I’m sure someone else will break down every song, but I saw a comment earlier on YouTube, where someone said that this isn’t an album – it’s a collection of greatest hits singles. I wholeheartedly agree.

On Friday, April 6th Kylie Minogue released her 14th studio album after promising fans to have her heart and soul in her next album. In 1988, Kylie released her debut album simply entitled Kylie. The album debuted at #2 on the Official UK Albums chart before eventually peaking for several weeks at #1. Now 30 years later, Kylie has released Golden which is set to debut at #1 on the Official UK Albums chart. Golden takes the electro-pop that Kylie is famous for and adds a dash of Dolly Parton inspired country. Kylie even travelled to Nashville, Tennessee to records some of the tracks. The album is definitely pure Kylie though, maybe more Kylie than ever before as she followed thru on her promise to put her heart and soul in the album. Kylie turns 50 next month and Golden, the title track, tackles this head on. “We’re not young, we’re not old, we’re the stories not yet told … We are golden.” The lead single Dancing also tackles mortality. Her recent breakup clearly inspired several tracks like Radio On and A Lifetime to Repair. Jack Savoretti joins for an amazing duet on Music’s Too Sad Without You. Sincerely Yours feels like a song written for fans, and maybe references the four year gap since the last album Kiss Me Once. “This is au revoir, I won't go that far (You'll still see me, you'll still hear me Love you dearly ahh) And this is not the end, I'll come back again.” Thank you Kylie for coming back again with your most personal album, an absolutely amazing album! I’ll end with these excerpt from the Washington Post Review: “The lyrics fit a woman who turns 50 this year — regret, bad love, hope and yearning." "Still, there’s no denying Minogue’s overall skill, as usual. She’s earned the right to dabble in anything she wants, and she does it very well here. We just need to find a way to get glitter out of our cowboy boots.”

Kylie nos ofrece una joya en la que innova con toques country que casan a la perfección con el estilo pop que la caracteriza. En este disco la propia Minogue es co-escritora de todos los temas, y además de unas letras en las que plasma sus sentimientos, las canciones tienen unos ritmos y estribillos que no podrás sacar de la cabeza. Tanto está gustando y tan orgullosa se siente Kylie de este trabajo, que tiene intención de cantar todos los temas del disco en su próxima gira, algo que nunca ha hecho antes, ni siquiera con el famosísimo Fever. Con la edición especial además disfrutarás de 4 canciones extra que bien pudieran haber formado parte del disco. Son todas tan buenas que cualquiera podría ser una buena elección como single.
