I ordered these crocodile clips to connect to my charge controller to charge my lifepo4 batteries. I originally had battery lugs on the cables but this meant everything I needed to charge the battery I had to remove the M8 bolts and the inverter cables to attach the charge cables. I wanted to make the charging swap over between batteries much quicker and easier so I opted for clips. These clips are huge! Much bigger than I expected. They are well made with great insulation across the clips. I wanted full coverage not just the handle area. They clips come with 2 x copper lugs (which I did not use) I used much smaller lugs for my 10awg cable. You also get the screw bolts to attach the lugs to the clip. Wiring was completed in about 3 minutes! You receive both a black and a red clip. Having tested these out, they work great with my charge controller. Powering it and charging the battery great. Yes they are a complete overkill for my system and do look a little silly on my battery but equally they are fully insulated and much safer that the small insulated ones I have in my tool shed. The clamps themselves are excellent, they feel sturdy and have a good clamping force so they shouldn't slip off. What lets them down if the nut and bolt they come with, they feel cheap and I didn't trust them to not come loose so I used some I already had. Using the clamps is very easy, slide off one of the protective cover and fasten your cable securely using the predrilled hole and then slide the protective cover back.

I have used my homemade jumper Leeds for over 30 years but the very flexible Leeds are as good today as when I made them . Over 3 metres long I can help start a car even if we are back to back . Trouble was the old style crocodile clamps were tired. Putting these insulated clams on my Leeds will be hopefully another 30 years lol I'll be 103 so someone else could use them .
