Besides needing to include yarn that is a bit higher quality, I think this is a good kit compared to others I have tried. The video instructions were SO helpful, and I could not have completed it without them. It wasn't a breeze, and I was very overwhelmed when I tried learning alongside my daughter. I tried on my own, and was actually surprised that I was able to get it started and learn the stitch well enough to let my daughter continue for most of it. She is 11 and has wanted to learn for a long time, so I am glad she was finally able to get her toes wet.Overall, I wish more kits were this inclusive and helpful! I don't know about the other patterns, but the football makes an exceptionally good kit to start with. This little football is an easy beginner project as it has minimal stitches however, I will caution that the yarn separates easily. It comes with two a booklets; one that explains crochet stitches and their abbreviations. The other is the directions; written and video (there is a QR code to take you to a you tube video). The video is good and will help guide you through the process of making the football. 🏈 It also comes with two hooks, eyes, markers, stuffing, and the various yarns/thread needed. You will use 1 strand of yarn to make the small football. To make the larger one, you will combined two strands. While this is not ideal for a newbie it fairly easy. The design does call for change of color. I would advise researching this and practicing before hand. There are several different ways to change color to make the change less visible.p.s.Tried to upload a photo of the contents of the box, but it would not cooperate.

This is a good crochet kit with multiple colors of yarn, tools, stuffing, and two instructional booklets. There is some extra practice yarn included also, which I love. One booklet covers crochet basics, and the other is specific to how to make the three rabbits shown. There are QR codes to access video menus on YouTube - multiple videos cover the various parts and techniques. I like that there are both ways of instructions, so people who need more help can view the videos. This seems like a good kit for beginners. My son was interested in learning crochet, and the footballs are a great way for him to try.

The process takes just the right amount of time, and is just the right amount of difficulty that I feel a sense of accomplishment when I finish, without feeling stressed out.The instructions are very clear. What I like most about them is that they separate the instructions on how to make a specific stitch, and then the instructions on how to map out the actual design. That’s a smart way to organize it.I chose this design because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I love this kit because the youtube video step by step is amazing for beginners like me. However, the yarn is so hard to work with! It unravels randomly and when I do the stitches, the hook will mix in with other parts of the yarn.

I thought these were for beginners so I was like, cool I’m not a beginner so this should be easy. WRONG. The way the pattern is written for some parts is so confusing. They just don’t even explain what you’re supposed to be doing, it just lists stitches with no direction. Sure, I could have followed the video the whole time but 1. I rarely have quiet in my house to actually hear what’s being said, 2. I found the videos really annoying to follow along with. Either they were over explaining something I didn’t need to know or they were moving too fast and I would have to pause a bunch. It was not the relaxing, fun project I thought it would be during my long surgery recovery. Some parts were fine and didn’t drive me crazy but most of it did lol it’s for sure not a beginner level project. Heck, I’m a novice and I struggled. They turned out cute, but very flawed somehow. I’m sure it’s because of the difficult readability of the patterns. The value seems to be decent. The yarn was kind of annoying to work with. It separated a lot while working with it. Or tangled during a stitch when better yarn wouldn’t have. I did love the little scissor tool that came with it but they only actually made a cut 50% of the time. I liked that it came with two hooks, since I’m known to lose things. Basically all of the little tools and accessories it came with were nice to have.It seemed like a really really cute kit, I just wish it was easier/better to use. I think if they improved the pattern and explanations, it would be a lot better. I would have been completely content with this kit if it wasn’t so difficult to understand what to do. Frustration was not what I needed after 2 spinal surgeries and awaiting a third. I was too stubborn to quit once I started but it definitely was stressful to do at times.

My oldest kid loves crocheting stuffed animals, and my youngest is Cocomelon-obsessed. The pattern was simple to follow. Of course, we took creative liberties and overstuffed it so it looked a little chonky, lol. (My kids have this thing for making "chonk amigurumi;" they think it's hilarious.) My youngest adores the resulting toy and keeps it in his bed, so overall, this is a 5-star from all of us!
