Tern Craft Ice Cream Maker - Artisan Homemade Ice Cream, Gelato and Frozen Custard in Minutes with 1 Pint Freezer Bowl

Full disclosure: I’m not family or friends of the creator, or part of the Kickstarter for the Tern. I wanted to find an ice cream maker to give my husband for his birthday, who loves frozen yogurt, and this came up on my Amazon search. I don’t know the creators, but I’ve Kickstarted something before and know how hard it can be to break into the market. I had to leave a review to make sure other consumers know what a great device this is! If you want to make excellent ice cream fast, and be in full control of the process, this machine will fit the bill.What I love about this machine is how involved you get to be in making delicious custom ice creams. It’s very fun to learn how to churn the mixture. It’s not too hard to start with the recipes given, but it seems like there’s a lot to master. It’s a good feeling. You can create an excellent quality ice cream in about five or ten minutes the first time you try it out, and it seems that the quality will only go up with experience. It’s glorious!I love how simple the machine is. It turns a cold bowl for you. That’s it. That means there’s no complicated parts to wash, no little pieces that you have to worry about breaking. The bowl is small so it makes small portions, but I’ve made two batches in a row with no problems with the bowl not being cold enough. The efficiency of its simplicity is extremely pleasing.My nephew loves being able to make our own ice creams together. I haven’t branched out very far with him yet, since I’m still learning and I don’t want to disappoint him. But he is a curious boy who is very entertained the whole process through. It’s a lovely alternative to, say, baking cookies together.I’m still working on getting yogurt to freeze correctly, but I have a lot of hope about getting there soon. I love this machine and glad I took the chance on buying it!

I researched ice cream makers before making this purchase, and none of the reviews for other products gave me enough confidence to buy them. I love this ice cream maker! It is so easy to use, and you can have your favorite ice sitting on your table in no time. So much fun!

The Tern Craft Ice Cream Maker is simply an excellent product. It has a no-nonsense design that is both aesthetically pleasing and intuitive to use. Most importantly, it consistently produces great ice cream! Our family has enjoyed experimenting with different recipes and creating our own unique combinations. We highly recommend this product and have already purchased one for a friend. If you're deciding between the single and double bowl options, go with the double bowl. You won't regret it!

I have never used a machine so easy.. I had the Ninja ice cream maker, but the Tern makes that look like a chump!The annoying part about the Ninja or others is that I have to freeze my ingredients a day before I want ice cream. Who plans our their ice cream!?!?When I get a craving, I can have ice cream in under 10 min with the Tern.This thing is legit and I dont know why more people aren't talking about this thing. Go get it now!

I had such high hopes since I also experienced below par icy ice cream, not far enough ice cream, too much waste of ice cream frozen to the bowl, getting ice cream out of paddles ... The Tern did NOT improve my home ice creaming experience. Ninja Deluxe Creami created the best creamy and firm smoothness --- but it quickly BROKE and clearly is not engineered to sustain its POWERFUL churning... Cuisinart and similar have too much freeze-to-bowl cream, yet not firm enough... AAARGH... Tern requires manual power to keep a paddle-- and their plastic paddle is not strong enough to hold against the rapidly spitting bowl to fight growing layers of frozen cream; PLUS produced a chemical taste in my soft serve like product. PLUS cream splashes profusely outside the plastic cover and too much cream just gets wasted. RETURNING

Only cold enough for 1 small serving. Not at all what we expected.

We have had our Tern for over a year now, and we absolutely love it! It’s way better than ice cream you buy in the carton and we can make a whole batch in about seven minutes. We have two bowls so that we can make enough for our family of seven to all have a small serving. It’s really fun to let the kids put in different fillers to change the flavor. We are super grateful to own this!

My family uses this all the time. Way better than our prior cheap ice cream makers. It's easy to use with basic ingredients already in our home. Our kids really enjoy using it, and especially the end result!
