Amazingly functional device!

Excellent peeler, cleaned 11 pounds of shrimp in 10 minutes

Very solidly built and does a decent job for peeling and deveining shrimp, but I prefer the type of deveiner that has small curved scissor-like blades for cutting the shell of the shrimp all the way down the back. These scissor type deveiners seem to do a better job in my opinion and leave you with a shell that comes off very easily and exposes the vein for easy removal. This tool works pretty well and is definitely very solidly built, but just not quite as well as the scissor type deveiners in my opinion.

The handle is very comfortable. Works as advertised!

This works great. I had 2 pounds of previously frozen large shrimp, almost prawn size. Thawed them out, watched the quick video and used this wonderful tool. Did all 2 pounds in 5 minutes. A quick thrust seemed to work the best after inserting the tool. About 30 percent needed to have the vein rinsed out but that was easy to do. Bravo!

I think Toadfish makes the best oyster shucker out there and I own 30 . I expected to love this but I do not at all. I like the cheap red detainers that cost $5 (Challenge 50187 Shrimp Cleaner on Amazon) The first time I used this I sliced my finger which was my fault because I am so used to using the cheap deveiners that do not have a slicing blade on them I did not realize I had to be careful. The diameter of the end of the Toadstool deviser is too big and it does not slide in as easily as the cheap red ones. I also can not hold the shrimp the same way I do with the red one for fear of getting cut. Overall I can just fly with the cheap red one and it is very easy. The Toadstool is clunkier and takes me a lot longer and does not feel good in the hand. I have been working on tweaking my use of it in case it has the potential to be better than the red one and I have just not figured out how to use it the best way . So far I still hate it. The Toadstool is made well and will never break like the cheap red ones. Tip: when I am traveling and do not have a deveiner I cut off the shrimp tails and that makes the shrimp release from the shell much easier when peeling by hand.

殻も剥けるし背腸も取れるのは取れます。 けど手で剥いて包丁で背腸を取り除いた物に比べるとかなり残念な状態で。 多少は時短になったかも程度です。 フライにしても天ぷらにしても食べたら違いが解ります。 黙っていても子供達は気がつきました。 もう少し大雑把な料理だと問題無いかと。

Easy way devein and deshell a prawn

Excellant tool for doing shrimp expensive but will last a lifetime
