The Kissing Booth

This book is truly fantastic! It's a simple feel-good book which makes you feel all warm inside because of its cuteness (all those who've read the book hopefully get the inside joke!). I know that I could see myself in Elle and I really connected with her, which made me totally engrossed in the book as I wanted her to get the happy ever after with both her boys! The book takes place in an American high school and features two best friends Lee and Elle, who are practically twins, and Noah, Lees brother and the hottest guy in the school. When Noah and Elle kiss, Elle is torn with the possibility that she may be falling in love but how does she tell Lee, who would flip if he ever knew. How far do you go to protect the ones you love? and are you really protecting them, or making things worse for all involved? This book really does take you on an emotional rollercoaster and at times you don't know who to sympathies with most. As you see the many layers of the characters, you get a much better insight into the workings of the human mind and really makes you connect with them and you need to read on because you need to know what's going to happen to them. I loved this book, I never really read because I don't like it but I couldn't put this book down the more I read the more I wanted to know. This is the only only book have finished and really enjoyed . If you don't practically like reading this book will change your mind about books. I think that there should be another one can't wait to see what happens to Elle and Noah 's relationship. I it's well written and loved it all the way through

Reading this book after seeing the movie has given me split views on some the characters and cemented my views on others. Both only had a snippet that was actually relevant to a kissing booth. The rest was just a typical opposites attract love story. Book Lee is probably my favourite overall. He is understandably hurt by the developing relationship of his best friend and brother and even though he has issues is supportive of them if not accepting. Elle is not the sort of character I enjoyed in either book or movie. She seemed incredibly immature and naive and was quick to abandon her beliefs all because of 1 kiss. Noah is a constant in the book and movie that he is shown to be a typical jock but also smart enough for Ivy League standards. An unusual combo in YA romance but one I admire. There were parts of the movie I wish had been in the book such as the list and the scene where Lee explains how hurt he is that Noah has Elle too but most of the important scenes were there. The ending felt rushed and hugely condensed. As a whole it was a nice read but not one I'll be going back to. If there is a sequel then I'd probably get it to follow the characters but not likely to read other books by the author.

Very Fast delivery A sensational & one of a kind book all teens will LOVE!! liked the development of the characters and the plot line always had me wanting more! Really hope there is a sequel :) buy it!

The Kissing Booth was overall a good story: the plot was clear; the characters were easy to picture; the story moved along at a fast pace; it was quite descriptive and, despite a few mistakes ("trousers" for instance) ,its setting -USA- has been taken into account. The basic idea is that Rochelle and her best friend, Lee have decided to a Kissing Booth for the school's spring carnival and at the last minute by pure coincidence, Rochelle ends up in the booth and has to kiss Noah, who is Lee's older brother and is described as being incredibly good looking. Soon after, they end up in a secret relationship. This part is described quite well, as Rochelle feels guilty for lying to Lee but is worried as to what he might say. However, faults with the actual plot are that it's a bit standard and cliche. You can basically guess the rest of the story, apart from one small twist at the end. Noah has a split personality that is incredibly hard to believe; one minute he' obsessed with danger, the next he's all sweet and is unrealistically romantic which isn't uncommon in books of this sort but the way he acts throughout the book makes it seem unlikely that he'd be like that. For quite a bit of their relationship, it felt like Rochelle was experiencing lust towards Noah, constantly commenting on his appearance, rather than harboring romantic feelings for him. My main concern which I have with this book is some of the morals which the characters display. Rochelle gets very drunk, to the point where she considers skinny dipping, before getting taken away from the party by Noah. As well as encouraging the idea that there will always be someone to take you away from the party when you are drunk, so you have no need to worry about how much you drink, Rochelle is seventeen at this point and the legal drinking age throughout America is 21, so she is considerably under age and when she turns up at home the day after, her Dad doesn't seem too fussed. Early on into the relationship, Rochelle has sex with Noah. Presumably, Noah is 18, so should have had more responsibility, and depending on where the book is set, (It might have been stated but I can't remember) this could have been illegal, and suggests that it's ok to have sex if it feels right, regardless of age or length of relationship. Just bare in mind that Rochelle is portrayed as a "nice" girl! Noah's possessive behaviour is also quite concerning. He stops other boys from dating Rochelle, and comments on what she is wearing. He also claims that all boys are only after sex so Rochelle shouldn't date but he's hardly the most caring person. It also seems that his violent traits are irrelevant because of his appearance, which could encourage the idea that looks are the most important thing and nothing else matters. To be fair, the characters do not act like this the whole time and the author could even be portraying them in this way to show that it was a teenage relationship, so was less serious and slightly naive. I noticed the morals but it didn't stop my enjoyment of the book. At the end of the day, that part comes down to your personal opinion so I have pointed them out but it may not affect some people as much as others. Despite a couple of plot and moral concerns, The Kissing Booth is light hearted, funny and captures the torment of a relationship that might not be approved or accepted. I would recommend it for 14-18 year olds due to a bit of explicit content but it is infrequent. I read it in a day and did enjoy it but just a couple of setbacks may mean that it is not to everyone's taste.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Usually you think you can guess the ending of a story, but not this time! It was so refreshing to read, and by such a young person, one of those books that you just don't want to put down. I am sure Beth will do very well in the future and I wish her good luck in everything she does.

I heard an interview on the radio, with the author - and I thought to myself that I should take a look - and I wasn't let down. I really enjoyed it, a brilliant book that I couldn't out down! I would think it is aimed at teenagers, but at 40 I still very much enjoyed it. I suppose at any age, you relate to a great story about romance/friendship :-)

I first discovered The Kissing Booth when I saw the movie trailer on Facebook, so I saved it on Netflix and watched it a few days ago. Having loved the film I downloaded the book and I just finished after two days of reading, omg what a difference between the book and the movie! It was similar but different at the same time, I adore both versions

I loved the book .... can't wait to read the series........ I loved the characters Elle & Noah like they were my next door neighbours.......... very funny........ very romantic in its own little way....... I usually don prefer high school romance but this was just different.

Das Buch ist eine leichte Coming of age Geschichte. Freundschaft, erste Liebe und das begleitende Drama. Wie einfach das Leben doch zu Schulzeiten war ;-) - und doch erschien es uns damals so dramatisch.

It's incredible to think this book was written by a fifteen year old. It's an adorable romcom with an original twist on the age old "girl falls for the bad boy in hopes of changing him" plot. A little awkward to have a novel set in the US with British English terminology, but such a fun read you'll hardly notice.
