I have extremely curl hair product doesn’t straighten well better for Caucasian hair

I ordered this after cutting my hair. It's beautiful, gets hot quickly, straightens my hair nicely-when my fingers don't accidently turn it off. At first I thought that I kept turning off the iron but now I think that every pass through it just shuts off. If I don't notice that it's turned off, the next pass through will not straighten properly, and I have to wait for it to heat back up (which is quick-but incredibly irritating).

Although the straightener looks nice and does get hot, it doesn’t close all the way, so the plates don’t meet together. Obviously it won’t straighten if it will not close completely.

The item came very obviously previously used. This is standard?

These were my absolute best favorite flat iron.work very well it has exceeded all my expectations it heats quickly for days am running late
