AcuRite 00418 Wireless Thermometer with Clock, White

Inaccurate in very short time.

I have two of these. place them next to each other and one unit is a degree (F) different from the other. Even when the remote transmitter is next the receiver, the readings don't match each other (they should). This isn't exactly scientific equipment. But, it's good enough.

In use for less than 2 months. I can verify the indoor accuracy with other devices and it is usually in agreement or within 1 degree of those, so no problem there. The outdoor readings are a bit more variable but usually within an acceptable degree difference (i.e. 2 to 4 degrees). My sensor unit is about 50 - 60 feet away from the receiver unit so I cannot comment on distances of greater length.Shipping was prompt. Set up is easy. Based on initial observations the AcuRite 00418 appears to be a good economical value.

We have used this model temperature gauge for several years and love it. No more having to go outside, or even to a window, to see if it is open windows weather. Our gauge is hanging outside where the sun and wind don't have any effect. My sister put hers in the crawl space of her 100+ yr old house so she would know when to switch on the heater, there, to keep her water pipes from freezing.We bought two units so we could check the temperatures in more than one room. The readers both detect the same outside gauge; no programming or syncing necessary.

Seems to work very well. However, with any tech product, its only good if its working a couple years from now. So far , so good. Easy to install and set up.

This is my second AcuRite 00418 in use around the house. They are 6 degrees apart when tested in the same outside location. One is incorrect.Which one? The newest is incorrect compared to my $70 unit of a different brand and the weather station. What the heck............it's cheap.

Still working with same batteries after a month of negative temps and single digit temperatures. Signal doesn't reach to far, great if base is inside of a window and remote within 20 feet outside that window.

This one works okay but does not show the outdoor temperature all the time - keeps flashing on and off. Think I like the one we had previously (same brand) - it was easier to use.
