OliveNation Bourbon Whiskey Extract 16 oz.

The edge of this extract is rather chemical and the finish is not a bourbon flavor. It may work in cooked foods but, I used it in icecream.

I bought this in hopes of using it as a flavor additive while Kegging beer. I’m not sure how they can market this as a bourbon extract at all. No bourbon taste or smell. Kind of a chemical alcohol smell with hints of whiskey.Unfortunately I opened it to taste and cannot return. Maybe use it as drain cleaner?

I bought this product to put in my barbecue sauce in place of real whiskey seeing that we do not drink. I've had several people tell me that it doesn't taste like real whiskey leading me to place real whiskey in my sauce.

I used to buy this all the time from Olive Nation. I was willing to pay a premium price because the product was high quality with a great shelf life because it was always shipped in brown glass with lids that had a silicone gasket. Therefore, I recently decided to order a larger size (16oz). I was dismayed to discover that their extracts are now being shipped in plastic with cheap lids (no gasket). To make matters worse, it’s in CLEAR plastic, so it isn’t even light filtering! There is NO WAY this product will have the same shelf life or quality if it’s in plastic.
