Great Bike Rack - Monorail 2 bike platform
This is an incredible bike rack, very solid, very sturdy, easy to use get the bike on there in a jiffy. We are casual cyclists and so we do not leave in on the back of the car exposed to the elements 24/7. It’s easy to just add it to the hitch when needed. The bikes re very stable and secure on the rack.

Very solid bike rack
I previously had a Yakima Doubledown 4 rack, but had to replace it when I bought a RadRover fat tire ebike. I did a lot of research and the Rocky Mounts Monorail seemed like the best choice, especially since it would handle my bike (60 lbs, 4 in wide tires) with no need to purchase extra parts. Add to that the great price and I couldn't pass it up. The rack took me about 20 minutes to assemble, and mounts very securely to my hitch. No wobble or rattling, which is more than I could say for my Yakima rack. My bike fits very solidly in the rack and it takes less than a minute to secure. My only concern is the two locks. There is one for the hitch pin and one used to secure the bike cable. They do not look solid at all, I bet I could knock them off with a hammer. Other than that, this is a great rack and I'm very happy with it.

Great product.
Solid bike rack. Love the ability to fold it in the upright position while not in use. It holds both bikes in a very stable and locked down position while traveling.

This rack is right in the sweet spot for performance and price.
UPDATE: over the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday, I hauled two bikes on this rack over 400 miles. It was absolutely rock solid.. The bad first: I paid $499 for this and now it's $60 less just 10 days later. I know that's a temporary price reduction, but it is annoying that it dropped so much. The good: Even at $499 for the 2" version, it was a good deal when compared to the usual suspects from Kuat, Thule and Yakima. It was easy to assemble and I simply went to YouTube and watched a video. It is very sturdy and when the pin is properly tightened, it does not move. We don't ride mountain bikes anymore, but I'm sure this rack can take some rough terrain. We easily carried our two hybrid bikes that weigh 28lbs each. The blue handle for lowering/raising and tilting works very well. The arms for securing the front tires work very well. Just make sure you really press down on them to get a secure fit. I'm going to use a strap through each wheel for extra security. I recommend keeping a ratchet and 19mm socket or a 19mm ratcheting combo wrench in your vehicle just to make sure the hitch pin is tight and you'll need it to remove the rack. Mine is mounted to a 2" receiver on a 2023 Acura MDX and it is super easy to load/unload and with the loaded rack tilted, the tailgate clears easily.

Seems like a good value - will update of anything comes up during use
Generally great. There is room for improvement on the way the endcaps are secured on the end of the arms over the front wheels. The nuts did not thread easily, and were not held securely in place while attempting to affix the bolts. I had to remove the endcaps several times to replace the nuts when knocked out (even when I oriented the arm so gravity would gently keep the nuts in place), and ended up scratching the paint where I had to use a screwdriver to pry one off (too tight to remove with just my hands). Haven’t used it yet, but the structure seems solid!

Great rack and exactly as advertised
This is a very good and easy to use bike rack. Assembly was simple but two people make it easier. Some people said the rack rattled in their hitch but that is impossible. You thread the hitch pin (provided with the product) and tighten with a wrench. No way it rattles. Very easy to raise and lower. I use it on the back of my pickup and I can lower the tailgate if I need to. Your bike is very secure when it’s on the rack. I have no fear with your baby when it’s in the rack.

Easy to use, very sturdy
This works perfect if you own a smaller vehicle, easy to load and sturdy, within budget as well when compared to other bike carriers. Note the only downfall is security. The locking system does not make a tough deterrent.

Great rack
We are very pleased with our Monorail hitch rack and have used it often since purchasing it about four months ago. It was easy to assemble and it is easy store since it folds up. We have used it for both mountain and road bikes and both fit securely in the rack. It is a sturdy rack, but we periodically have to tighten the bolt that attaches the rack to the hitch. Especially when we drive on dirt roads to get to trails. It come with a lock and cable, but we add more cables to secure our bikes and never let them out of our sight for long. Unfortunately cable locks are not theft proof. When used on our Subaru Ascent, our back door can open with the bikes on the rack and it tilted down. When used on our Toyota Tacoma, we can open the back window with the rack tilted down however there is not enough room to lower our tailgate. Overall this is a great rack at a great price and we would buy it again.
