Always go with Frigidaire products
Don’t waste your money going with a cheaper unit, Frigidaire I have found to be the best. When it’s in 100 degree weather I don’t want to worry about our unit working. Would recommend.

Quietest AC i ever heard, incl split units, but power is equal to other 6000 BTU uniys
Compressor is so silent, it made me wonder if its running at all when i first turned it on.Even on max fan speed it does have little bit less airflow compared to others, but its not an issue, and i gladly trade that for less noise. On low the fan is inaudible, even when there is no other "noise" in the room, you basically just hear a bit from the compressor, but its very faint sound.I installed a couple of normal/silent units incl value priced split units, and this so far is the quietest one.Like the panel covers, which help with insulation, but i used some high density foam (2in) to fill the gapbetween window frame and the unit sealed with duct tape and covered with 1/4in signage board, and could neither here cars passing by or feel any heat from outside (83*) coming thru the panels on the inside.Depending how the heat gets in the room, you might want to set the fan to med/high during the day, this is enough to keep the room at 75* when its +85* and 90% humidity outside, with the room is under the roof without insulation.A 8000 BTU unit i used before (haier serenity series) was powerful enough to only run for 10 to 15min at a time, while this usually runs continuously when its above 85 outside, but this removes humidity in the room better, while making less noise (with fan on max) than the haier with the fan running on low, so i dont even care that its running the whole time. Its really showing once you start using a mic on computer or watching movie/tv with the unit just 4ft awayand set to med making less noise than most of the shelf computers.

Shipped/delivered on time, arrived a bit banged up
The box was a little banged up upon arrival, and the chassis of the AC was dented in a couple of places, but the front panel you see from indoors was not damaged and the unit runs extremely well so I decided not to return it or report/complain to seller (I assumed the damage was not the fault of the seller). 2020 is our second season using this unit in our bedroom and I will say that it runs very quietly, and economical. Our electric bill has been lower than it was the year before we purchased this unit. This AC keeps an area about 600SF at a steady 70 degrees F, even in eco mode with the fan on low speed. Unit is lightweight enough that one person can install it in a window. Cons would be: the remote control (ref image) - the button interface is a thin piece of material that is stuck to the electronics with a thin adhesive layer, which lost its stickiness the first day we used it. We have to hold down the plastic piece in order to press the buttons; in fact we don't bother with the remote and just keep it in a zip-close baggie in a drawer. Another thing I dislike (and I have this problem with other AC brands/units as well) is the LED color on the front panel. They are a very bright green, and light up our bedroom at night and keep me awake. As you can see in the photo of the unit, I ended up placing electrical tape over each light (downside is I have to peel the tape back to change settings) Maybe a darker color LED might work better? All in all a great unit for a bedroom, if you have electrical tape and don't want to use a remote control.

Good quality quiet AC
I bought this AC for a bedroom to replace an old noisy model. This one is much quieter; I have a HEPA filter running in the room which is louder. The build quality is also a step up from the older model; details like the pull out blinds seem better designed.I should comment on the noise. Like some other reviewers I noticed that the noise level did increase after several weeks. There is more noise when the external fan comes on. I am convinced this noise is the fan picking up water from the tray at the bottom of the unit and that it is an integral part of the design. It is supposed to do this. The unit uses the water to splash the hot heat exchanger on the outside and cool it down. This keeps the efficiency of the unit high. It doesn't make the noise at first, because there is no water in the tray (the water mostly comes from condensation off the unit.) You could stop the noise by removing the rubber plug in the tray from underneath, but I DON'T RECOMMEND DOING THIS.If you want to know what the noise is like when you receive the unit, fill the tray with water. I can see that not knowing what the noise it and the fact that it starts some weeks after a period of very quiet operation could be annoying for some people. But if you know what it is and that it's saving you money in the long run, at least for me, makes the noise acceptable. All windows mounted AC make this noise (if they are properly installed) but its more noticeable in this model as it is so quiet to start with.

Very efficient
This air conditioner cools my room down quickly. I like that I can control the speed of the fan and, to me, the remote is truly wonderful. I’ve had several remote air conditioners, but I’ve never had one this good. This remote works in no matter which direction I point it. When it’s dark or I’m half asleep, I don’t have to point it at a specific spot on the unit; I don’t even need to open my eyes. I highly recommend this air conditioner and already have plans to purchase another one.
