Vitamin C Powder, 1 Gallon Bucket, Ascorbic Acid, Supplement

I bought this stuff to try to remove stubborn rust stains from the bottom of my Gunnite pool. It worked well! I turned off the filter, poured a cup or two of the powder over the stained areas, and let it sink. After two days, my plaster looks good as new. No scrubbing! It also removed every bit of free chlorine from the water though. I had to shock my pool twice to restore adequate levels. Also made the water a little cloudy, but the filter seems to be clearing it up (slowly).July 24, 2025 Update: I had to use a LOT of chlorination to get my pool back in balance. The chlorine level got so low I got an algae bloom. I had to buy more chemicals to kill the algae followed by hand-vacuuming to remove the sediment (dead algae). Vitamin C is a miracle for removing rust & mineral stains. ZERO scrubbing, and my plaster looks like new again. BUT...ascorbic acid wrecked the chemistry of my salt pool. It was like starting over again with stabilizer, hardness increaser, clarifier, algaecide, and many baggies of shock. I still recommend ascorbic acid for getting rust stains out of your pool, but be prepared for the algae mayhem that follows!

Pool stain HACK!!!!! Our pool is 30+ yrs old and the surface was showing it. Uneven color, algae stains, and it had a green cast to it (copper in the municipal water) along with Iron staining. This worked so slick it looks brand new!! The photo show out test of the stairs which I could never get clean, they had a brown dingy cast to them. You can see the bright spot on the bottom where the VitC migrated and sat over night. Last night we treated the whole pool, and WOW!!!! The plaster looks brand new again. So excited. Hope this review helps someone else be able to enjoy their pools more. NOTE: We did turn off the cholrinator for 2 days. Then poured the powder in before dark and left the circulating pump on over night. It's still getting brighter thought out the day... Will let it run another day and see if we need to have another go or turn the chlorinator back on. Whoo Hoot! So happy this worked.

About the best value in dollars per pound if have seen and performs as expected. I use it to remove iron stains from swimming pool plaster and on concrete areas around the house. Can also be used to slowly remove rust from tools and, if necessary, as a vitamin C supplement in the diet

Best thing ever for stains in pool. Although it decreases the chlorine level some, it works in minutes……especially if you’re having company and need a quick fix. It does not take a lot (I put a cup in about 12,000 of water). I wish I had known about this sooner.

This product is amazing! I had metal staining in my pool vinyl liner, poured this in on the stain and in a minute the stain was lifted out! Amazing product to gelp lift metal stains!!

I use this product for the pool mainly for the organic yellowing of the steps because we have lots of trees around and pollen and other stuff is continuously discoloring the sides of the pool.

Works perfect for cleaning copper off pool liner walls and stairs. Works instantly. A little goes a long ways when the filter is running. Run overnight and next day crystal clear
