Pretty awesome yet...
This parang feels great in the hand, well balance, sharp blade and eats up green material. However, I was cutting cedar and ash branches (which are like super hardwood when dead) and bent the blade (as you can see). I was told this is due to the blade was likely not fired properly. I now only use it on green limbs and such, and I have to baby it because of the bend. For lighter (green) stuff this knife is awesome and just fun to use. The sheath is almost comical, at this price point a leather or fitted sheath would be more appropriate. In spite of getting what might have been a defective knife I recommend this, just avoid really hard woods and I would not baton it.

Beautiful chopper. Highly recommend
I'm super happy with this parang. I chop allot of brush in my line of work. I fell in love with the duku chandong style of blade using the bear Grylls parang. Which isn't a bad machete for the price but this is a huge upgrade, the real deal when it comes to parangs. I believe Malaysia is where the parang originates from so it makes sense they would make an awesome blade. Performs amazingly. Very hard steel and very cool unpolished hammered finish. I am now a huge fan of Myparang and will be buying more of their blades in the future.

Extremely good edge holding steel. Short but handy. and pinned handle. Well designed sheath.. .
I have the complete selection of My Parang blades. The short 12 inch is the best I own. It can be easily carried, can take a razor edge, easy to resharpen, short enough to be be able to get close to the limbs and vines. The sheath is a vast improvement over the earlier ones out of Bidor, Malaysia.
