I bought the four camera version, added two more (two dome cameras) and I am now looking at adding a couple more as the system takes up to eight, so for the price you might as well.You should locate the box where it cannot be seen or locked away, as there are many stories where they nick the box if it is by the TV. Once connected to the TV you want to use, buy a wireless mouse, as you never need access to the box again unless you want to extract info onto a memory stick (worth putting one in the second USB ready in case you need to download anything quickly)Connecting the cameras is easy, the difficult bit is running the cables out of sight, through the loft etc. If you want to go distances further than the standard cable length (18m), then you should use a full solid copper network cable - very important it is full solid copper and not a cheaper version, as it will not work, you will also need a pair of Passive Video Balun's with Power Connectors and RJ45 CAT5 Data Transmitter (go for Amazons choice), with this technology it will be good for 100m distance.The cameras need to be plugged in to the back of the box in the order you would like to see them on your TV/phone. It is then a case of looking at the instructions (search on the internet for them) to set things up, then get the app for your phones and set that up as well.It takes time to get everything working how you want it, a bit annoying that only one person can be logged in at once on their phone, as it kicks the last person out and there is no capability for the app to remember your password, so you have to manually write it in if you go from one phone to the other, It would be great if Yale could just update the app to allow multiple connections and remember your password, as the hardware is excellent and the software is almost there.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this kit. It’s easy to set up, everything fits as it should and the app works fine on my phone and iPad. The resolution is terrific and at night is so good that when my neighbour saw it on my tv screen he immediately decided that he wanted the same kit. Downloading footage to a usb stick is a doddle but I think when Yale decide to review this model they should put the usb socket at the front so that users don’t have to go around the back of the unit to download the footage.The on screen menus suggest that the system would be expandable and flexible enough to cope with most situations and they are intuitive enough that a complete cctv beginner would probably cope. There are enough available options that you can build your system to be as simple or as complicated as you like.Another small niggle is that the camera mounts could be a bit more movable but it’s not a big problem at all because you can use the phone app to position your cameras before you actually fix them in place.Well worth the money and I would certainly buy this unit again if I needed cctv for another property.

Excellent bit of kit easy to set up and pleased with the complete setup .Great value for the money

Easy to install etc, but upon installing and testing the system, it was found that the system was showing "no hdd".Check inside and there is a 2TB hard drive.Checking to format but it does not pick up anything being plugged in.Rang yale support, and there was no support they just said return to product.Go through amazon options of missing parts and again thats just an automated service to return product.Who pays for the labour of the lads installing, removing and re installing? I would rather just rerurn the hdd and swap for a working one.So further update, upped from 2 stars to 4 stars, although Yale was not supportive, amazon was, and arranged for a new product to be sent out and to just return afterwards.This new product still had the same issue, turns out it was my own error.So the product comes with two plugs, one for the cameras and one for the box.Turns out the plugs for the cameras where powering the the box and the power for the box was powering the cameras.There was nothing to distinguish the difference and they both still powered up so this didn't cross my mind.So i thought, I would just try swapping the power leads over (same connections) just incase. And what do you know, issue resolved. One must give out more power to support hdd.One plug is boxed with the box and one plug is boxed with the camera.They was unboxed and left together before installing

The recording box makes an awful continuous humming noise.

Set up was not straight forward but got there eventually . Decent motion detection & image . Let down by the length of cables , really should be longer or at least have the option of extending.

Couldn't get any further than downloading the app and zapping qr code would install the cameras, so after 5 hrs trying to get it to come on it was booked back up and returned. I even rang customer service requested call back...no call came!
