VIZIO SB2920-D6 29-Inch 2.0 Channel Sound Bar

I plugged it straight into my desktop out of the box and immediately all my music sounded far away and muffled. All the sound seemed to be in mid EQ range. I tried to boost treble and bass but it honestly just seemed to make the mids louder, to the point where the louder music I was playing came through as indecipherable noise.Boosting the treble seemed to just bump up the volume, and boosting the bass just gave me some harsh 'thumps' on the lower end of the mid range. I did a frequency test and the bar didn't even register sound until 70 Hz, and there was no power behind it. It didn't really resonate until around 100 Hz. It simply does not have a good range. I knew I wasn't going to get rock-solid bass without a woofer, but this thing is a waste of my time.For whatever reason, it seems to screw with the mix of my music. It makes particular instruments pop out at weird times and hides the vocals behind guitar. I get these weird effects across all my music and genres, too. It's like it's EQ'd very particularly, but there's no way to really adjust that.I tried adjusting the True Volume and HD settings, and switched the EQ between movie and music mode, but after trying everything from the manual and searching online, I've decided that it's simply a bad soundbar for music. Avoid the headache of buying it and returning it if you want this for music.

Great sound! A massive upgrade to my TV speakers. I bought this sound bar refurbished at almost half off!I do have to mention that the way Vizio did volume adjustment-- even at low settings, the sound bar gets pretty loud!Setting the volume to 50% is suicide! I'm not sure why Vizio scaled the volume adjustment for this sound bar this way.Were they expecting it to be used in a massive amphitheater?? I have to keep it at 2 notches at most (10%), otherwise it would be too loud!Docking a star because of volume scaling.

Couldn't be easier - two outlets, one aux for the audio itself and one USB port for power. The USB port can be plugged into a power adapter (not included) if I want to use it with my phone instead, but so far I haven't done that. Great sound; both the volume and the bass sound MUCH better.

Dido,The five stars says it all. The sb2920-D6 is getting a bad rap. Amazon has only 3 listings. The sb2920-C6 is getting all the glory. Why? I could go on about the comparison about the two units. Since, they are so much alike it is not worth it (except the price) Ok, the the previos sells at a popular electronics store for about twice the price. Manufactured in 2016 (D-6) Why the C-6 has over 2000 reviews and the D-6 has none BEATS ME

Did not fit under tv legs. Measure height before you order so it fits. I had to raise my television up a couple of inches. Otherwise, the sound bar is awesome!

Great sound.Only down side is controler, reset button is in a bad place, two close to power button.Also would help if the controller was lighted.

No more muddy conversations on tv. Everything is crisp.The volume can be cranked up to LOUD too easily. I need more experience with it.

It's amazing! My only complaint is that my son tends to turn the bass up so the bar keeps creeping to the front of the mantle it's on. It makes me glad I didn't mount it, as I didn't want to be *that* neighbor.It is my first sound bar and I regret nothing!I purchased this refurbished, would do so again.

At first we were satisfied with the soundbar but after a couple of weeks it started disconnecting from the TV and be difficult to switch to a mobile device. Latest issue is it’s working when on cable but not on SmartCast . Both products are Vizio. Bought this with the TV.

The Vizio SB2920-D6 seems to get good reviews for a relatively cheap soundbar, but I found the sound quality was only slightly better than my built-in TV speakers. The volume settings go from reasonable to extremely loud with nothing in between. The remote worked only once and then completely stopped. None of the suggested troubleshooting fixed the remote problem and I had to return the soundbar. Disappointed that Amazon wasn't offering an exchange and that the price has now tripled for a replacement of the exact same product. After this experience, I won't consider a Vizio soundbar in the future and will be less likely to purchase electronics on sale from Amazon if they won't replace faulty products or guarantee their sale prices.

Works great but it's very sensitive, hard to find a comfortable middle ground on my tv, it's either deathly quiet, murderously loud, or ever so slightly too loud but manageable. Probably just my tv though.

Highly recommend! I instantly noticed a difference and will enjoy watching my entertainment on my TV with this soundbar. The set up with my multiple boxes needed a bit of trial and error, but I got it to work after reading some other reviews here.

Works well. Only down fault is if you put your TV on pause the sound bar will turn off after a few minutes
