The outstanding advantage of this trimmer is its light weight. Obviously for the benefit of lightness it is less powerful than many trimmers but an effective cutting action is obtained by shortening the blade. It is easily manoeuvrable enabling good reach.

This battery hedge trimmer is easy to use but for me a little bit heavy. I would like to be able to have a smaller shank for difficult areas but other than that it is super. We have a 50’ hedge 6’ high and also one shorter but 5’ high. It cuts through it all beautifully.

Part of the sales pitch is how lightweight this is compared to others. I am a 5' 2" female ( over 60) and can lift 60 + 80 litres of soil but I was surprised how heavy it is. I think it is because the weighted end is at the far end of the Trimmer. Appart from that it is really effective. Makes my life so easy now,no climbing stools or ladders just getting used to how and where to stand for the most effective use! I now have thicker straighter hedges. I love it!

This cordless hedge trimmer is the lightest we have ever used and by far the best. The battery life is excellent and the ease of putting it together and taking apart again for storage (if you need to and we do) is as easy as saying ABC. We trimmed 10 large conifer trees (11ft approx) ... and a WALL of ivy spanning 15ft wide and 12ft high ... standing on step ladders and bench to reach the top. The trimmer managed every task we put before it. In fact it was sooooo light to use my wife and I were "arguing" (in a nice way) on who was going to do the trimming. It even managed to cut thru some thick 'ish branches ... but please remember it is a "trimmer" not a "loper" so do not expect to cut thru chunks of tree branches. Otherwise, if you are looking for the best light weight cordless hedge trimmer, with a good solid battery life ... then look no further ... the Gtech Cordless Hedge Trimmer HT50 is the one ...

I used this for our 8ft high overgrown hedge and found it easy to use and the weight well balanced. I'm 5ft 6in and 72 and was doing the work because my husband was recovering from a heart procedure. The hedge, about 25ft long, was done in less than 20 mins so I also did our pyracantha and two overgrown rambling roses, one of which reaches to the point of the roof over our front porch. The reach was great and the ability to change the angle of the blade made everything so easy. I finished the lot in about 40 mins and still had plenty of battery left. Husband has now recovered but this is now MY toy!

Quite heavy to hold for prolonged periods and the 2 separate hold start triggers/buttons make it awkward. It does cut really well, even through thicker branches and the long reach is great.

My long reach cordless hedge cutter is Fantastic so light and very quiet I’ve always had Stijl products but they are abit heavy and very smelly being petrol. Ok your tools are only for peoples own gardens really you couldn’t throw them on the back of a truck and exspect then to stay in one piece but I love mine so much thank.
