Perfect for sun observation
Easy to use and love the portability / the lint also has a dovetail so I could use it on my go-to mount as well.

worked like a charm!
great for viewing the eclipse!

Overall good value, but needs better tripod
I used this one for the total April 2024 soler (spelled redneck style to pay homage for viewing in Missouri, not far from my hometown) eclipse. I needed a lightweight scope, because my own scopes were not portable enough for an airplane.Kudos to them for having a comprehensive package with the backpack, tripod, diagonal, and eyepiece. The tripod was pretty wobbly, so I ended up using my own Manfrotto. The scope gave a great view of the sun, and I and I fumbled around most of the eclipse trying to capture the view with a cellphone camera. I failed, because there was no way to get a clear view without internal reflections. This is a lesson-learned for the future. The finder scope is was not centered and I didn't see any way to adjust it. The aiming spot was pretty course, and it took me longer to find the image in the eyepiece than I expected. In the future, I will probably use a larger eyepiece to find and center the image then switch to a smaller eyepiece for viewing.I was impressed with how easy and quick it was to set up the scope. I till probably use it again in the future, because it was a lot faster than setting up my Vixer. If I don't want to take photos, this is a very practical alternative to a larger scope with better optics.

It works, but it's on the low end of the quality spectrum.
We used this Svbony Solar Telescope to view the April 2024 total eclipse (although it was only about 60% in my location). It works. Not only were we able to enjoy some spectacular views of the eclipse up close, but we were also able to see several sunspots at the same time. The solar viewfinder is really nifty and I'm sure works extremely well when properly aligned with the telescope's bore. Unfortunately, the factory didn't align ours very well (or else it got knocked around during shipping). It is EXTREMELY difficult to locate the sun by looking through the telescope while scanning the sky. I can't remember exactly how I finally found the sun, but I know there was a pair of eclipse glasses involved because I had to look directly at the sun to do it. Once I finally had the sun centered in the eyepiece, though, I made a small index mark on the viewfinder where the sun's "dot" was. From that point on, it was a lot easier to find the sun after 15-minute "viewing breaks."As many other reviewers have noted, the tripod included with the telescope leaves a lot to be desired; but to be honest, the telescope isn't made all that well, either. The OTA is made of plastic and the included eyepiece is not the greatest, even for a Kelner. Thankfully, however, there was no flaw with the solar film and our eyes were protected while we viewed the cosmic event as it unfolded.Overall, this is an "okay" telescope for the (very) infrequent solar observer. It provides reasonably clear, close-up views of eclipses and sunspots; and though I haven't had the opportunity yet, I imagine one could also view transits of Mercury & Venus with this little scope. Just realize that the Svbony is not a high-end Coronado PST.
