Know what you're getting into.
I'm honestly surprised this is a 3 star product. I have the opinion that it's a similar situation to somebody reviewing a car because it won't haul a washer and drier around like a pickup truck. Not that it's suppose to be an allegory "car is to truck as Incipio Atlas is to Otterbox Defender/Armor/whatever".Given the tradeoffs that you have to accept in order to use a waterproof case, I have had great luck with this one. With the glass screen protector mating up with the display you don't have any screen pillowing and no dust ever gets under the glass. The one thing I'd like to have improved in the design is the sound. Particularly the rear microphone reception and the speaker output. When recording video the audio is extremely muffled and playing anything back does not sound good at all. The implications for this are that your phone calls will also have very little noise cancellation if you're in a noisy environment. With regards to call quality, my voice was picked up by the main microphone very nicely and the earpiece sounded clear. It's almost as if Incipio needs to evaluate what kinds of gasket materials should go around the rear mic/speaker to see if they can isolate directly to the gore-tex membrane better. I may attempt to modify the case in the future after the warranty expires, but I'm undecided. With those issues noted above, it still remains the finest case I've used on my phone. The drawbacks are heavily outweighed by the limited device warranty and the glass screen protector. On a sidenote, I highly recommend getting some Fussode Smartcoat to add an oleophobic finish to the screen protector. That's another thing they need to improve, including an oleophobic coating with the glass screen protector. The screen benefits a great deal from it.The sound issues combined with the lack of an oleophobic coating on the glass are why I 4-star this product. I believe they should have used better gaskets to go around the mics/speaker and that the glass should be oleophobic. You do not ship a glass touchscreen surface in this day and age without doing that. Aside from these issues, I still love this case.

Kept phone dry while taking underwear snorkelling shots
Bought this phone with the intention of taking underwater photos on a snorkelling excursion while travelling. What I didn't think about was that the touch screen doesn't work underwater. BUT, if you put the phone in camera mode (or video) while the screen is dry, you can use the side volume buttons to take pictures (or start/stop video); you just can't switch between camera and video underwater by touch screen. Once I had figured this out this case worked for what I had purchased it for. You're also able to attach a landyard to it which I did to swim hands free while snorkelling while I wasn't shooting/filming.This is my first waterproof case and I chose it for the glass front and not plastic like others so it would respond better to touch as I had read on review blogs. It worked pretty great but sometimes you had to press a little harder or sometimes accessing the top and bottom hidden menus are a bit trickier but I'm sure this glass front would perform better than all the other plastic ones.Sound was a bit quieter as well for some calls as I read in other reviews. The case is pretty tough to get open. I had to ask my boyfriend to help me and he would always pry it first with a knife or something. I read somewhere not to use this as your everyday case since opening and closing can possibly weaken the seal but if it's only for use while on a vacation a couple times a year this is pretty great!

Best overall waterproof case out there!
It may be tricky to purchase a genuine waterproof case on amazon, but I've purchased both this model and the newer iPhone 5s model with ID from amazon, for different iphones in our family, without any issues. Although I've ALWAYS purchased "sold by" and "shipped from" amazon products. After originally purchasing an iphone 5 atlas case like the one above and using it for a year, a tab along the bottom door broke, and although it still shut and never opened on its own, it made me nervous to leave it in my pocket while in a pool and I was constantly checking it. I contacted incipio and they authorized a return and replaced it quickly, for free. However, I didn't want to be without it for the 2 weeks or so the return would take, so I purchased another, but instead I bought the 5S ID model. Bad decision! Even though it looks cooler and has a larger glass screen and larger flash window, the touch screen is not nearly as effective as on the older iphone 5 atlas case, especially near the ID button. Taking a picture is burdensome and ends up causing motion blur because you have to hit the button so hard.....to say its frustrating is an understatement. Needless to say, I prefer this model hands down if you don't have to have ID fingerprint reader functionality. I have used the lifeproof and otter box, but the atlas case just feels of superior quality, with its sleek glass screen (yes it gets finger prints and such, but just wash it off....it's waterproof) and low profile case, in my opinion it is still the best overall waterproof case out there. Not to mention, Incipio support is awesome! Good travels!

Very good waterproof case with glass screen protector built in
Quite happy with it. Only a couple of minor cons. Pocket lint tends to get trapped along the seal. Also touch sensitivity is a bit compromised, making dragging from the top or bottom of the screen difficult. Texting is also a bit of the pain, kind have to tap hard to get it to register sometimes. But, the phone feels very secure and the case is much sturdier than the Lifeproof case (I have owned both). I prefer this one over the Lifeproof, but I wish it was easier to put on and take off. I realize that its not meant to be taken on and off all the time, but it does double the thickness of the phone, so when I don't need waterproofing I like to take it off and put a much slimmer case on my iPhone.
