Inconsistent switch
I planned to use this two-position KVM switch to move between two work computers. One is used only for a client's email access, so it would be convenient to switch the keyboard, mouse and monitor to read and respond on this computer (an old MS Surface) and move back to work on my primary work computer. What happened -- the switch would not display the video from the MS Surface. That could have been okay, since the MS Surface is on my desk, I could live with only switching the keyboard and mouse. Except that, when switching back to my primary computer it often would not switch back to the work computer.I did add an external power supply early in this process. The capability to add a power supply is built into the switch, although the switch doesn't require it to operate. But thinking that one or both of the computers may not have enough power to support the switch, I added power to be safe. Same issues.I'm not that interested in working hard to diagnose the issues. I returned it to Amazon.

Unsure about this...
I purchased this so I can use my Mac laptop and my desktop pc on the same monitor with the same keyboard & mouse. I was under the impression that if I connected both monitor cables, of course the keyboard & mouse, that when I switch over, the Mac laptop should appear on my desktop screen. This does not happen. When I switch back and forth, it allows me to use my keyboard & mouse on the laptop, but that is it. Nothing happens w the monitors. I have tried several different configurations and it just won't switch over the screen. I'm disappointed..I still have to "look" at my laptop screen when using it. I like the fact that I can use the keyboard and mouse, but not sure if I would have purchased just for that feature. Please let me know if I am wrong about it's intended purpose.**UPDATE: This thing is driving me nuts. It constantly switches back and forth with the keyboard and mouse. It refuses to use both monitors. Unfortunately, I am finding this device to be completely useless. Is it broken??? I'm so disappointed.**UPDATE-UPDATE: THIS THING IS A PEICE OF CRAP. IT DOES NOT WORK TO SWITCH MONITORS.

ONLY WORKS WITH USB 2.0
This ONLY works with USB 2.0. Do NOT get it if either computer you are trying to switch between does not have a working old school USB 2.0 port.I was super confused when we first got this because I could NOT get it to work correctly. No matter what I did it wouldn't work right. Tried plugging in external power, switching between USB ports etc, nothing seemed to work until I realized that both computers had to have this plugged into USB 2.0 ports, after I figured that out it all works perfectly. My wife has been using this for 2.5 years now on a daily basis as a KVM switch between her Windows work computer, and her Linux Bioinformatics processing computer and it works flawlessly, no issues whatsoever.

Works great. VMs cause some switching issues
Does exactly what I need it to. If you have a VM open on your screen and the Numlock in on for one but not the other, and your switch between the two, this will register as the KVM hot key sequence and change computers. Not too bad once you turn Numlock on both the host and the VM, but it is a WTF moment when you forget.

Works but causes noise in video output (snow)
It works just like any other KVM I have ever used but causes noise (snow) on the monitor. I used multiple different hdmi cables but the snow didn't go away proving it is being generated from the KVM itself. Since I am using this to play games and watch movies it is unacceptable and will need to return it.

Stopped working consistently after a month.
Worked very well for the first month; I even had my printer hooked up through it, so both computers could access it more easily. Then the wired mouse stopped responding. The mouse worked fine when hooked up to each computer, so we determined it was the switch. Then the wired keyboard started doing the same thing. So far, it is still switching the HDMI monitor just fine, but I am looking for a new KVM switch, because having two keyboards on the desk at the same time is a nuisance.

Not sure if the other reviewer got a bad unit, but mine works perfectly
Not sure if the other reviewer got a bad unit, but mine works perfectly. I have no problem switching back and forth between computers and it works as advertised.

Wish I could give this a zero
Where do I start. First of all the directions are all in Chinese. Didn't work and I couldn't really trouble shoot because there isn't a website and again the instructions do not come in english. With that said the set up looked pretty easy. Not only did it never work but it fried my mouse and keyboard. Please stay away from this product!!
