I’ve been saving this in my cart for almost a year now. With several upcoming short and long trips, I finally decided to buy it to see if it was worth the money and carryon real estate. Now I wish I had bought it sooner. I reviewed this using Original Line Nespresso pods, which I plan to take with me (for convenience) on travel. I tested it 3 times. Pros: it is compact, (somewhat) light, and fits in a handy drawstring carry bag. It easily fits in a backpack or carryon suitcase. It comes with an Original Line Nespresso pod adapter (but careful—-see “con” below) as well as an adapter, a cup, and a measuring spoon for regular grounds. It works on human power, bike-pump style, not electricity or batteries, which means it can be used literally anywhere. I used both thumbs and about 15-20 good presses. It makes rich espresso, albeit not as “crem-ey” as a regular espresso machine. Cons: I marked it down a half point as it is more like a 4.5/5. Be careful of 3 things. First, after using, when removing the used Nespresso pod, be sure to unscrew only the extractor adapter top lid, not the silver metal ring below the pod. The adapter is what holds the pod in place to better extract the coffee. Do not dump it into the trash by mistake. Like I did :-p 😅!!!! Second, screw the water and pod adapter lids extra tight. Water leakage is possible during pumping, which can result in burns. Finally, if you use this for backpacking, or are really mindful of weight, it is solid (not flimsy, which is good; but it does have a bit of heft). But true coffee addicts will likely sacrifice other weighty items to keep their coffee ritual intact!!!! Neutral: you must provide your own boiling water. Usually you get (or can easily find) boiling water wherever you go. My thinking is, if it provided that feature, it would likely require some kind of electrical heating element, which would add weight, so I do not personally view that as a negative. All said, it is nice to know that I will never again go without my Nespresso or good coffee, whether I’m visiting friends or staying at some random hotel on business or holiday. A must for traveling coffee addicts. Update: Tried it on a recent road trip (in an area notorious for bad coffee). Worked like a charm. Love that requires no batteries or electricity and that the process is intuitive. Nespresso-espresso smells and tastes delicious after extracted from the devise. THIS is now going with me on most recreational and business trips. Worth making room for it in carryons. Highly recommend.

I cannot believe they actually created such a product like this. This is absolutely unbelievable. How many of you love espresso coffee black? Maybe with or without sugar. For me I don't drink coffee or espresso without cream and sugar. Can't stand black coffee espresso because it is usually too bitter. However this Nanopresso will change your mind. I love drinking the espresso black still with some sugar. You get incredible rich crema that taste no different than spending hundred's if not a thousand plus on a machine. It almost tastes like cream was added but it's not. It is the 18 millibar pressure that squeezes incredible flavor out of the coffee. Not only this and this is where I just can't wrap my brain around this one. There is zero bitter taste! I have had other espresso machines and you get that espresso bitter taste in your pallet. No way in the world a starbucks esspresso taste as good as this little device can make. Plus it is portable so you can take it with you. I cannot understand why this has not been one of those CES inventions of the year. This is truly a man on the moon invention. And then you get the price. Seriously? Unbelievable inexpensive! I have waited a while to review this product because I wanted to run it through my tests. I use this every day. Try making cappuccinos with a good frother for the milk and there is no need to go to starbucks. Personally if I was the CEO of starbucks I would buy out the company just so that they would never sell another unit. This is a game changer and a threat to the big coffee outlets. Could only give it five stars because that is all the stars amazon gives. It is worth 10 stars. Do I love this product. Yes. And it is not hype. Try it for yourself.

I can’t say enough good about this little gem. It kicks out some amazing espresso. I suppose everyone has their thing. Mine? I screw on my double espresso ring from the barista kit, grab a double basket (also from the kit), leave on the water reservoir that came with the Nanopresso and squeeze out a double. Then I top it off with a bit of frothy milk. It does take a little getting used to the correct amount of grind etc. but it doesn’t take long to figure out what works best for you. You just don’t want to overfill the basket, or over tamp your grind. I also purchased the Nespresso attachment and have really enjoyed trying several different Nespresso pods. *UPDATE* Well, the honeymoon is over. When I use my own grind, it works really well, but recently I’ve been having issues with the NS Adapter. It has decided not to pierce the foil on the top of the Nespresso capsules no matter what I do. If it doesn’t change in the next pod or two, I’ll have to use my Asurian Protection Plan. *UPDATE TO THE UPDATE* First, I have to say that customer service has been great. They have answered my e-mails promptly with suggestions and even a video made for me demonstrating a couple of ideas to fix mt NS adapter issue. Here’s what I think was happening... When I placed the Nespresso pod into the unit, I would just screw the cap on without pressing the pod down onto the cutting blades. I think it was kind of grabbing the pod and twisting it before it was completely down on the blades. Anyway, what I have done with the last four or five pods is press them firmly down onto the blades before twisting the cap on. It’s worked like a champ every time.

First of all this unit is smaller than expected and is a neat little product. The built quality is great and the plastic feels solid in your hands. There are only pros on the product side. But does it do good coffee? Well it depends. If you use your own grounded coffee you’ll have to find the right grains, grounded at the right thickness for the foam to appear and for the coffee to taste good. Plus handling the coffee beans is a messy business, especially if you use this in the wilderness. So I would recommend using the nespresso pod adaptor to make your coffee. Using the nespresso adaptor, the coffee was not bad and produced a lot of foam. Unless you like single shot espressos, you’ll probably have to invest in the barista kit to have a bigger water container. Alternatively you can pour 2 cups but this just makes the process messier and not as convenient. All in all, this is a nice gadget if you need your coffee anywhere you are.

Recently brought this to an overnight trip to the mountains, it’s perfect!! Very handy and easy to bring, it can easily fit inside one’s backpack. The machine’s components are made of strong material, so it’s quite durable. The 18 bar pressure is great too, it produces delicious coffee everytime, whether I use ground coffee or capsules. Clean up is also minimal, just need to rinse it out with water and you’re done! Definitely worth 5 stars!

It was a Christmas gift to my daughter, Amy, and she loves it. She had been wanting one for a long time and enjoys an espresso first thing in the morning to get her going and it makes a delicious cup of espresso. She has to travel different places each week so it is a perfect fit in her luggage.

It’s pretty amazing for being so small. It produces good espresso, both from grounds and pods. One thing to be aware of: hand strength and coordination are important for pushing the plunger, because you hold the unit vertically and push the plunger in sideways, not down. I had a problem with the first adapter (for using pods, not grounds) not puncturing the pods, so no water flowed through the pod. I asked a question online and one answer suggested that I had a defective unit. I returned/exchanged for a new one, and sure enough, that was the problem. The new adapter has longer spikes which puncture just fine. The plastic parts are pretty thick, seem as if they won’t break any time soon. Took me awhile to figure out where the cup that was pictured is. It’s the outer shell of the water container, you have to wiggle, not unscrew, to get it off. I just carry a small insulated cup with the unit which I think works better. But the unit really does have everything you need, except the coffee and the water heater.

When it works it’s good! Unfortunately it worked ~ 60% of the time (failed to puncture capsules the rest of time) for a little over a year, after which it failed all the time. Frustrating. Can’t recommend

Ottima alternativa quando si è fuori casa. La nanopresso necessità di acqua calda, ed una volta inserita la cialda il caffè esce tiepido e cremoso, ma non abbastanza caldo. Diciamo che per chi come me piace il caffè è una salvezza, soprattutto quando si viaggia.
