Doug Marcaida Serbian Chef Cleaver Knife, Bushcraft Full Tang Fixed Blade

My favorite hunting camping backpacking knife! I have used this thing for everything from cutting melons to hacking off limbs from trees to quartering dispatched animals. I just ordered my second one.

I haven't had a chance to test it, but I think it will hold up well. It's a good thickness and feels good in the hand and a good weight for camp chores or work in the woods. Mr. Marcaida designed a near perfect knife here. The only way to improve it, I think, would be to add a karambit style ring to the pommel. It would assist in retention when chopping and if grappling could serve as a digit capture ring.

This knife is well worth it but its not for everyone mainly because of how massive it is compared to most knives but for me I've gotten pretty use to handling it and it is wicked sharp right out of the box and the leather sheath is pretty good as well and the gripping the handle is very comfortable in my hand and it practically sucks into my palm

This is a versatile cleaver. It’s got some weight so be prepared for that. Plenty of space between the knuckles and the grip so you can dice easily. This is a well thought out blade.

Amazingly sharp! Good thing the back part of the blade is there to keep the fingers from slipping! Well designed & Balanced. This one was built to last a lifetime. Naturally, it's a Doug Marcaida Design!!!

Excellent quality especially love the grip and the balance in hand for such a giant cutter. Mine came with a razor sharp edge too. I could work on camp chores with this and easily switch to cooking prep for chef or santoku type tasks.

It will keeeel.....warm butter..... almost For all the hype surrounding this thing.... I'm pretty underwhelmed. 420c is about as bad a steel as you can actually make a knife with.... ok, I can overlook that, it's not like I'm taking it on Alone and banking my life or a million bucks on it. The thing that kills me though, is the box has a sleeve, the edhe of that cardboard sleeve is, I kid you not, sharper than the knife. feels great in the hand, looks fantastic, balenced REASONABLY well......if it were made of even.... 1095? much less something like CPM3v or ....S30VN ANYTHING more durable than the average butterknife....and sharper than one as well out of the box..... it might be worth the asking price. As is however.... it's a big ole gas station quality blade probably worth 29.99 when you top off with Gas and grab a bag of jerky. Doug Doug.....Doug..... I expected more from you man..... sold out to sell em cheap, likely mass produced in China for 4.00 per.....if you had gone thru ANY reputable maker as a colab, it could have been something truly special..... Feels bad man....
