I bought this unit to power Pautix strip lights but it wouldn't turn the lights on. I thought this power supply was defective and wrote a 1 star review. I soon thereafter received an email from the company very politely suggesting that there is nothing wrong with the power supply. Rather, the email gently continued that the Pautix lights require a 24V supply and this unit provided 12V. In brief, they told me the power supply is not compatible with the lights so of course it wouldn't turn them on. Boy, am I embarrassed. There is nothing wrong with the power supply. It probably works just fine with something that requires 12V. But it obviously will not power a 24V item. It was never designed to do that. So I apologize to this company and thank them for their gentle and polite email. They would have been absolutely justified in sending an email that said "Hey, stupid. The problem is operator error. Our power supply is 12V and you're trying to run a 24V item. Does that give you any clue as to why it doesn't work?" But they didn't. So, again, I thank them.

updated - BTF-LIGHTING was very helpful in attempting to resolve my issue of the whine during dimming. First off, I'd like to say that the whine may not be noticeable to many people. It is fairly high pitched and only audible in a quiet room. BTF-LIGHTING provided a replacement 10A power supply. This supply performed better than the 6A supply, but still made some noise. I also had a 12V 30A supply on my shelf and tested with that. Surprisingly, it ALSO made noise, so the issue is NOT unique to BTF-LIGHTING power supplies, it is more common. In my case, I intend to locate the supply inside a cabinet that will dampen then sound and effectively eliminate the issue. This is not a BTF-LIGHTING power supply issue, it is a common issue. I appreciate BTF-LIGHTINGs assistance in helping to resolve the issue and quickly responding and addressing my issue. I will definitely continue to use BTF-LIGHTING equipment and recommend it to others. original -- When the output is off, or at max power, there is no sound, but when the power is in the middle, the supply generates a very annoying whine sound that varies in loudness depending on load.

After just two years of use it's dead. It worked well for my application, single string of white LEDs but, after often but very low wattage usage I would have expected MUCH longer. UPDATE: PSU recovered about 4 hours after removing failed Shelly RGBW2 and leaving unplugged.
