Great initial first impressions - Darwin Awards proof
Out of the box, smooth and sleek with no holes in the base to worry about cleaning. Pieces seem sturdy and well constructed. Very quiet motor, especially for the size. We'll have to see on the longevity of the motor, if something happens to it I will definitely update this review.Ran it through some slicing, dicing and pureeing, seems pretty effective. The ability to adjust the slicer is pretty interesting; I've never thought about that feature but now its pretty cool to have it. There are 5 settings, I would equate these to what you'd ask for in a deli when ordering cold cuts or cheese. However, this in no way would replace a commercial meat slicer; I can't imagine shoving a ham down the feed tube. One note on a safety feature: the main feed tube has a metal rod that must be inserted into the lid for the processor to operate. When attempting to slice an onion, I didn't realize this and thought it had stopped working. I ended up lifting the mid-size feed tube (there are 3 nested, for real) out of the main tube so the metal rod went in, but the onion still fit. Then it sliced just fine. A little more complicated than I'm used to, but I guess it probably could take your finger off so I guess the extra protection is warranted in this day and age. I guess if you're looking to slice off body parts, go get a $30 version....or the aforementioned meat slicer.Another note - KitchenAid appears to be owned by Whirlpool, which I was not aware of or even thought to look up. This has been true since 1986. I haven't experienced anything negative from either of those companies, but it might be good to know in case you have.

Great product
Does a great job. Light weight to pull out of cabinet. Like the storage box for discs. Washes easily in dishwasher.

Stopped working after using twice. UPDATE!!!
Worked fine the first couple times it was used, then quit. Past return window on Amazon and KitchenAid warranty service not very helpful. May want to think about purchasing this unit.Update: Have determined that the shut where food items are inserted was not seated properly. A safety feature that disables the unit until it correctly in place. Works great when everything in in place.

Nice!
We replaced a C******art that was horrible. Anything compared to that dangerous piece of junk would have been an improvement, but this KA food processor is great. The top part is very solid and easy to clean. It came with more slicer options than I know what to do with and they're heavy duty. It has done a great job processing everything we've done so far. The size of the food chute is good. The safety features are solid. In summary, this is the usual well designed, solid product I expect from Kitchen Aid. They do good work.

You need this food processor! Well worth the investment!
I bought this food processor because I finally wore my first one out. This is worth every penny. I bought the exact same model as my original one because I loved it. I use mine a lot and this one holds up great. Befire I bought my first kitchenaid Food Processor, I was replacing my cheaper brands every year or less. This was well worth the investment. Easy to use and lots of options with all of the attachments.

Just be patient with it
It took me a few tries to figure everything out and there are several user tricks to know when getting it set up and while using. I think you need to be a little mechanically inclined to master using it!!! The safety features are great for those who cook in their sleep, but annoying for those who are invested in the task at hand. Everything clicks together in a very solid way and that's quality, the machine is made of plastic, but it's thick and also solid. There are a couple of spots that worry me - the plunger has a thin plastic spindle that clicks into place in its slot - if it isn't locked in, the machine doesn't work. Pain in the _ _ _!!! Also, there is a seal on the lid - great! But when i prepared pineapple for making jam, the bowl leaked and that was disappointing. It didn't leak all over, but there was pineapple juice around the stem when I removed the bowl. Other than these issues, I like the machine. I might not buy it again, but I might try another Kitchen Aide when the time comes. It's good quality, just not perfect.

Excellent!
Shipped and arrived very quickly! Great machine, everything I expect from Kitchen Aid. I especially appreciate that the smaller bowl, dough hook, and storage case are included, exactly what I was looking for. Works great for making dough, shredding cheeses, cabbage, etc, making bread crumbs or cracker crumbs, slicing veggies and fruits. Many uses, quick and easy to clean, perfect for me!
