Best Air Conditioner I've Ever Owned!
I purchased the 8000 btu model and it's super quiet and super powerful. My old one was too noisy to sleep comfortably so I purchased this on a whim hoping it would live up to it's description. Highly recommend and is less expensive than other brands. I have had zero issues with this keeping my bedroom cool and comfortable.

A good window AC unit for operation cooling and cost to run.
The Rovsun 10 K BTU AC unit is well engineered. The unit is compact, efficient, quiet for both inside and exterior noise levels. There have been some reports of operation noise when starting, which is produced from the new type of freon (R-32) that subsides after a few moments as the fluid is compressed and circulating in the unit. The cooling capacity is excellent as the Delta T temp difference can be as high as 35 degrees. The ECCO mode is a positive feature that will maintain temp levels without constant compressor running some units do. Fan circulation and volume levels are set in stages that provide excellent air distribution. The addition of a connection elbow for the condensate drain would be a positive to control the location and dispersal of the water when gravity drainage is inconvenient for the location.

Defective Unit, Poor Support, and an Absurd Replacement Process
I originally bought a 10,000 BTU Rovsun window AC unit (essentially the same model I’m reviewing here), and it has been running for a year without much issue—if anything, the initial pairing with the app was the hardest part. At some point, the “Smarthome” app changed to “Smarthome - Smartlife,” which had nothing to do with Rovsun. Since my living room has been unbearably hot this year, I decided to purchase another unit. The shipping cost was the same as before, but the price of the unit had gone up. When it arrived, the packaging seemed fine, aside from a small dent on the back. I installed it, but within a day or two I noticed an obnoxious whirring sound—only when the unit was in Cool mode. My older Rovsun AC does not make this sound. It didn’t matter if the fan speed was High, Medium, Low, or Auto—the whirring persisted. Switch it to any other mode, and the noise was gone. Thinking I might have installed it incorrectly, I double-checked everything. No, the installation was fine. The unit itself was defective. I contacted Rovsun support, and this is where the real frustration began. After a few back-and-forth emails, they told me they would send a replacement unit—but only if I cut the power cord on my brand-new AC and sent them a picture as proof. This is apparently their idea of customer service. After that, communication slowed to a crawl, with replies only coming very early in the morning (which leads me to believe their support is based overseas). Returning the unit isn’t much better—Amazon’s policy means I’d lose about $30 in return shipping. I also contacted the seller through Amazon’s support page, but their system doesn’t allow sending normal video formats like .mp4. I even broke apart the video link so they could see the issue, but they still made things unnecessarily difficult. This entire process has been exhausting. A defective product is bad enough, but a replacement process that forces you to destroy your brand-new purchase before receiving help is absolutely unacceptable. I’ll update this review if anything changes, but at this point, I’m seriously considering cutting the cord just to be done with this headache. Right now, my advice is simple: don’t buy this AC unless you’re ready to gamble with poor quality control, tedious customer service, and ridiculous return/replacement demands. Edit - the unit was received, bumped from 1 star to 4, the new unit works as suggested. There are no whirring noises, I did have to cut the cord in the old unit though, but no extra returns, no real hassle.

Quiet and efficient
First day with the 8000. My room is pretty small but it was 97° in it when I installed this. It is so quiet I have to walk up to it to make sure it’s on! There is a thermometer out of direct airflow that read 85 but it was cold compared to right outside my door. I was worried about the old electrical in the house but with this maxed out, eco mode off, a ceiling fan with 3 lights, my computer with 2 monitors a heat lamp and under tank heating pad for the snakes I measured 5.5 amps at the breaker! Mounting is another story. They want to mount inside the house but with my style window that is impossible unless I want to anchor to paper thin aluminum window frame. I am working on framing it in with wood, I’m sure there is a mount for sale but I already have wood laying around so I’m choosing red oak. I might have spent more than I needed to but with a 15 energy rating and 42db noise level I feel like I made a good choice. It got cold. I turned on eco and sleep mode, set the temp for 74 and hours later it is still 74 and I’m still not sure if it’s on. It was not heavy, I have a lot of clutter to work around and my window won’t stay up but I installed it myself.

So impressed with Rovsun we’re going to buy a 3rd unit for another room!
This Rovsun air conditioner works so well and it cools down the room and stairwell in a flash! This unit is so quiet, even on the highest setting, which is why we specifically bought this for our bedroom - it’s our 2nd Rovsun purchase and we are now looking at buying a 3rd unit for our parlor to replace another brand that we bought a year ago: That one is so loud, you can’t even hear yourself think! It has a higher BTU though (15,000) where the Rovsun only has a 12,000 BTU so, it’s not going to have the same cooling capacity. I don’t know how much difference that will feel like.

Cool air
It installed into the window very easily and puts out a good amount of power. I can't speak to its longevity or if the inverter makes it use less electricity, however so far I'm pleased with the product.
