Fantasy: Mariah Carey At Madison Square Garden [DVD] [2004]

Not exciting

Mariah Carey official concert DVD’s are few, so this is a very rare occasion to see her in action - and at her commercial peak, as a bonus. Sung at a time she released arguably her best album, “Daydream”, this 1995 New York concert offers a cross section of it, adding hits from the past to the mix. Boyz II Men step in for the upcoming megahit “One Sweet Day”, and their member Wanya Morris duets with Mariah on “I’ll Be There”. Overall, Carey’s voice is in a top form (watch and listen to her the first hit “Vision Of Love”, which clinches the show), and although her live charisma is limited and she emits certain naiveté in her live interaction (stylized a bit, maybe?) - the show is carried through a huge crowd devotion and the atmosphere is corresponding to a superstar gig.
