I'm a researcher, and by nature maybe over-analyze things. But I feel the importance of adequate protein cannot be overemphasized, especially for athletes and older populations. I take the unflavored version and I don't taste any unpleasant flavors. You can add your favorite flavors (real vanilla extract is good) to keep it low/zero carb/sugar.
