I'M SO HAPPY I FOUND ETHNIQUE!
I have been very happy with my purchase of the body sampler. The butter bar, while better for heavy duty moisturizing, is lovely. I used it on my face, hands, and legs. Legs had the best overall outcome, left some residue on my keyboard when used on my hands, and wouldn't use it on my face. I think they sell ones specifically for your face, but I just wanted to try it out. I bought this sampler specifically to try their deodorant, and I LOVE it! Took some getting used to swiping a little heart on my underarms, but I enjoy the fragrance, and while by the end of a hot day outside, I CAN smell myself, but only if I'm leaning in to see if the deodorant still works. I don't smell it from the vantage point of my head on my neck, so I assume no one else can smell it either. Plastic-free packaging?! I'm down with that 100%!! It's not sticky or tacky. I use the little piece of wax paper it came wrapped in to hold onto it while I apply it. I've ordered the other fragrance and fragrance-free before deciding which bar will be my primary, but I'm definitely moving forward with their deodorant. I'll be exploring their other body care products as I use up what I already have.

Body Sampler Review: Sweet Orange Vanilla Creme Soap - Love the smell not a over powering scent , feels creamy, suds up nicely. Lime & ginger Body Polish- Smells nice, very coarse, i only would use this on my feet, too rough for the rest of my body Pumice Tea Tree Spearmint Soap- too coarse, wasnt a huge fan of the scent, i can see my bf liking it so hes going to try it out Botanica- lovely scented Lavender Deodorant, personally im not a sweaty person but did use this at gym and it held up. i can see this not working if you are the sort of person who needs extreme coverage, but for me it worked out fine. Sweet Orange Vanilla butter Block- thick shea butter lotion block, my skin has been dry due to weather and this has helped so much, ive enjoyed using it after a shower , however it melts pretty easily and id be afraid to keep it in my purse on a warm day, i did use it up fairly quickly and i can see this not working out for some people because its thick, can be a bit on the oily side, but my skin soaked it up and i will be purchasing a full size. Hair Sampler Review( my hair is extremely thick and wavy): Frizz Wrangler Shampoo - the more sudsy of all the shampoos , has a nice coconut smell, liked it but i probably wont be ordering it Heali Kiwi Shampoo- definitelymy favorite and i will be ordering a full size, has a lime citrus scent. the ingredients contain neem which is great for your hair. my hair feels cleaner, looks shinier. it doesnt suds up a lot so it was hard yo tell if i put enough in. the smell doesnt linger in your hair after it dries. St.Clements shampoo- very similar to the Heali Kiwi Shampoo in regards to smell, suds level, and end results, i want to try it a few more times to see if there is any real difference. The Guardian- my favorite conditioner so far, i think my hair just really agrees with citrus, this has a nice lime scent and really softened out my fair but didnt make it feel heavy or weighed down. Wonderbar Conditioner- really nice coconut scent, has a creamy texture, i can see me using this if my hair felt dried out, it brought out my waves more and i think it did a great job but i liked the guardian more *** i did notice i got a lot of dandruff, so i bought a shower scalp massager brush and just washed my hair more thoroughly and that seemed to do the trick, the massager helped make it easier to apply the shampoo and conditioner bar and my hair wasnt a frizzy mess afterwards***

Body Sampler Review
Long review alert- Ethique is amazing. Not just with their product quality, but their mission to be as low waste and low impact as possible. I love the idea of a samplers so you can try different products before committing to a full size of something. The body sampler was so awesome I’ve already ordered the hair sampler and I plan to get the face one when I run out of my current face products. Here’s my take on the body samples. All five- smell incredible. Creme Bodywash Bar- Of the two body washes, this one is more hydrating and nourishing. Better for dry or sensitive skin. Lime and Ginger Body Polish- Great exfoliant that I already ordered a full size of. Not too abrasive, but still very effective. I used this on my legs before shaving and they came out so smooth! Tea tree and Spearmint Foaming Bodywash- Very refershing and with the pumice, it provides more of a deep cleanse than the creme Bodywash. Lavender and Vanilla Glow- My favorite of the bunch. I have a difficult time finding deodorants that works with me. I don’t know what it is about this product, but it goes on so smoothly, gets me through the day and I’m excited to get a full size. Coconut and Lime Butter Block- The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars. I found it hard to melt the product and when I finally did, it was rather greasy. I do like to use this on drier areas like my elbows and feet, but it’s too heavy for my whole body. If you have drier skin than me, you’ll probably like this more. Overall, great product and I’m excited to try the other samplers.

Not sure yet....
I've only had the opportunity to use the Sweet Orange-Vanilla Bodywash bar from the body sampler, and one from the hair sampler, so taking that into account... SWEET ORANGE-VANILLA BODYWASH It's okay. Not terrible, not amazing. I have quite dry skin, esp in the cooler months like now. It's a very low lather, which I'm fine with. I don't find, however, that it makes my skin any more or less dry. I feel clean, but honestly, you can get that from a $5 bar of soap from the health food store. I'll use it up until it's gone, but I wouldn't repurchase given the price tag. I also don't particularly care for the scent; it's very reminiscent of a Creamsicle, if you're familiar. (Not that I'm surprised; I honestly kindof expected that.) What it comes down to is that I wouldn't pay the $18 for the full-size bar. ST CLEMENTS SHAMPOO BAR FOR OILY HAIR I have very fine, VERY thin hair that has become oiler since changes in my thyroid meds. I was really hopeful for this to work, as I am trying to reduce my footprint, be more eco-friendly, and become as plastic-free as is realistic... while also finding a solution for my (apparently) now oilier hair. I will say, I was very pleasantly surprised by the lather and how well it worked in the shower. I was very skeptical about it. I did NOT use conditioner at all, because a) I normally don't, and b) I wanted to be able to judge the shampoo on its own merits. My hair was nice and soft, but very flat even after drying it. By the next day, however, it looked stringy and frankly gross. (For reference, I normally wash every other day.) For a bar made for oily hair, I would have expected it to dry out my hair if anything. That was really disappointing. I'll update this review as I use more of the bars. For the moment, I would say they aren't for me.

Safe for sensitive skin
I ordered the body sampler. Right now I am trying to produce less trash and use more sustainable products. In case anyone is wondering the packaging was very easy to compost. I have extremely sensitive skin. I also spend a lot of time in pools for exercise so my skin gets dry. The butter block was my absolute favorite. I loved this lotion replacement. It felt amazing on my legs and absorbed very well. I also liked the solid deodorant. I wasn’t looking for a natural deodorant. I may be a bit of a hippie but I didn’t want to smell like one. I was that I like it. The body wash was body wash. The body polish was okay. I used it on my elbows and legs. It felt nice but my exfoliation cloth works better. The creek body wash was nice. It was very gentle on my skin. I liked it and I felt clean and it was moisturizing. I don’t know how well it would work long term but I wouldn’t mind trying it out. All of them had nice and light scents. I liked this but I am also the kind of person who chooses products without scents so my perfume is the only scent.

One out of Five Products
I really wanted to love this sampler - but I don't. (I have the hair sampler and like that one much better!) There are five samples in this pack: two body washes, a body scrub, a deodorant, and a solid lotion bar. I love that these bars come without a lot of packaging and are the perfect size for travel, along with being solids instead of liquid. But I didn't love these sample products, unfortunately. For starters, it's possible that the pack I received might be older or stored improperly before shipment, because the lotion "butter" bar immediately crumbled and became completely useless. I had to toss it before I could even use it - and believe me, I tried! Next up, the deodorant. The deodorant bar also had a weird grease stain on the package when I opened it, so it might have melted a little at some point. But more importantly, it was impossible to use. Try rubbing a crayon on your armpits. No? Yeah, that's what this was like. I don't know if it works or not, because I couldn't apply it at all. I was really disappointed because this was one of the products I was most looking forward to trying. The body washes and the body scrub, on the other hand, are okay. I don't like the fine grit of the scrub "polish", but the scent is nice. The two body washes are also nice, and the cream wash actually works really well as a pre-shave lotion. I like that one the best, and it smells yummy, too! Overall, I like the scents of these sample products and I like the packaging and the company's efforts to reduce packaging. I'll wait until the deodorant and lotion are refined before I try them again, though. In all, of the five samples, I think I only really would buy one on its own, which was a disappointment. I've tried other Ethique products and like them, so I was hoping to find new products to switch to zero waste. I'm glad I got them in sample size, though, so I could try them before buying the full sized product!

Great concept! Everyone should try this!
First of all, let me say how thankful I am for the sample packs... it really gave me a good opportunity to try everything and find out what I liked. My order arrived similar to what is pictured. T The orange soap: This one was great. I definitely liked that one. The smell was good, the texture was good and it lasted for several days. The green body polish: reminded me of toothpaste because it had a minty smell to it and was sort of grainy for exfoliation. I did feel like it was more of a soft consistency so you had to sort of be careful with it our you could use it all up right away. The black pumice soap: This one was my least favorite because the granules in this one were pretty sharp feeling, much more so than the body polish bar. It would be hard to rely on this for full-time washing especially when washing sensitive areas. But I like the idea. It was much more firm than the body policy... so if they could put the granules of the body polish in this bar, you might be on to something. The purple one is deodorant. I was not prepared for this but was very curious. Applying it was sort of how it feels when your standard deodorant is running low and you press too hard and it breaks off so you have to hang on to it with your fingers and put it on that way... a similar experience here. If I can come up with something to put around it so I don't get my fingers all full of it each time I use it, I would consider switching the next time I need to buy deodorant. The cream-colored one is lotion. This was also new to me. As other reviewers noted, it can be an odd experience when you try it for the first time. It is definitely a different experience than your usual pump lotion. This was more like a body butter or a thick creme that you could definitely feel on your skin for sometime after. Overall it was a great experience. The packaging was great. Consumers should approach this with an open mind and know that as with any change, you have to just get used to the new norm. Also keep in mind that even though bar lotion, etc may not be as convenient as what we are used to... it is also not as damaging to the environment, so you have to decide if helping to save the world we live in is worth the mild inconvenience of learning how to use a new product. Would recommend that everyone try this sampler.

Love this stuff!
Updated below. Help! I just got this today. I already have the hair products that I LOVE. I haven't even tried the body products. The bar that is supposed to be the deoderant looks like it is the bronzer. I am afraid to try this on my pits. I don't need bronzed pits! Please, someone from Ethique reach out to me so I can get a sample of the deoderant. Once I get this cleared up I can rate it properly. Edited to add: I reached out to Ethique and they promptly replied. It is indeed deoderant. The ingredients are just a little different than in the previous pictures of deoderant because of a change of supply of one ingredient. I haven't given it a try yet, so no review on it. I have tried the lime and ginger body polish and it works nicely, just dissolves a bit quickly, so I will be careful under running water when I use it next. I tried the teatree and spearmint foaming body wash and it left my skin feeling amazing. I will for sure order a bigger bar of it. Haven't tried the orange one yet, but it smells good. The coconut and lime butter block was a little crumbly in one spot, but I just worked it into my hands and put it on my legs and it felt nice. So far for the hair products I have used Frizz Wrangler Shampoo and The Guardian and Wonderbar Conditioners. They work amazingly on my hair that has some wave/curl and tends to be frizzy. I can air dry and my hair is a soft texture. I put a little of the Wonderbar on it as leave in conditioner and it makes my hair look great without product. I also wet my hands and smoothed some of it on my hair after I blew it dry and before flat ironing it. My hair has never felt so soft and smooth without the sticky feel of product. I seriously love this stuff. I am currently trying out the face sampler and like it so far, so we will see how my skin handles it after a few weeks using it. I am so glad I have Ethique a try. The samplers are nice before you commit to big bars. I really love this product!
