It does exactly what is says, no muss, no fuss. Love it.
It does exactly what it says, no muss, no fuss. You can specify an IP address to ping (the device on which you may need to do a remote reset) or you can just manually reset a device on command. There's a simple webpage on the ezoutlet that allows configuration of everything as well as manual power control including a one button reset. There's also some cloud control that I didn't need and haven't tried. Look to other reviews if you need it.If this is what you want, buy it, you won't be sorry.

Solves a very specific and nagging problem
I have some IoT devices out in the field that occasionally go offline, and the only remedy is to power cycle them. This power switch allows me to do this seamlessly. I've installed half a dozen so far and the only issue I had is one of them didn't activate with the code that was printed on the sticker on the back of the device. However, when I let the app scan the local network, it found it no problem. Overall, a very good, solid product and appears reliable so far.

Great for vacation home or remote location
Our router locks up at our vacation home whenever there is a power outage or power flicker. When it does, my security cameras go offline. I usually have to have my nearest neighbor go over and pull the plug out of the outlet to cycle the modem. That has done the trick for a few years, but if it's snowing, icy or just inconvenient, my neighbor can't get over and my cameras stay down, and my alarm has to fall back to cellular. I've used digital timers, and that works, though it's not an on demand solution and, if it doesn't work at the scheduled time, I have to wait another 24 hours at best for the timer to do its thing again. I bought this IP switch hoping it would be the on demand solution I was looking for. So far, it seems to be. I set it up, you don't need any special networking skills, just follow the directions, it's easy....a matter of a few steps. Install the app (I installed the android app) and follow the directions. Don't skip the step that requires you to pull out the Ethernet cable from the modem and plug it back in to put the device into add mode. This allowed the the app to pull the IP. It installed and recognized the device, and I've tested it several times with no issues, using it to cycle the modem on and off. I have it set to both auto connect when it senses an internet interruption, and on demand. I have not run the web based program yet, but will try that soon also. One difficulty I did encounter... I just switched phones from Android Oreo to Android Pie. I was trying to connect the device via the app on my new phone and it wouldn't recognize the device. On a theory, I downloaded the app to my old phone and it recognized and connected immediately. Once I connected with my old phone, I was able to log into the app with my new phone running Pie and had complete functionality. There is also an option to manually add the device using the serial number, device ID and IP, which should come in handy of the app drops the connection or deletes the device.ETA several power outages later and it's worked like a charm. No manual resets (meaning unplugging the router) since setting this up! My neighbor is as relieved as I am, no more inconvenient trips to my house in bad weather just to reset the router.

Was hoping for better
Started out good. All features worked fine. 9 months in and the scheduled option is not working. I wanted this device to reset my router weekly on a specific day. Works if I manually do it from the app.

Excellent much needed product
Excellent product. Works exactly as advertised. If you have a horrible ISP connection like I do from Frontier Communications and their tech support can’t figure out how to fix the issue then this product is for you. My DSL modem loses connection very often and the only way to restore the connection is to cycle the power. The EZOutlet2 does this automatically. Just a couple things that could make this better. 1. Add a logging feature so that I could show my crappy ISP how often I lose connection. 2. Add a setting to control the amount of time between losing the connection and cycling the power.

Works as advertized. Seems to use too much Internet for some reason
The menu is hard to decipher but once I set a ping address and the right settings it worked well. I won't mention the right settings because you may have a different firmware than mine. Keep trying. You should be OK. One strange thing, it made several connections to various Internet addresses. My router showed a connection count over 4000 for this device. Is it spying on me? Since I am not sure I will connect it to a router that will limit its Internet access to addresses that I allow.

You get what you pay for and no more.
To be fair, you do get what you pay for. The device was next to impossible to setup on the app. I had to use a web browser and connected to the device directly through its assigned IP. I do not reccomend having this device with a gateway to the internet. The security it lacking at best. If you can get away using a device on a local network (no gateway to the internet), then this will do. If you need to access a device through the internet, I would reccomend a more proper unit due to the lacking security with this setup. Again, it would not be right of me to give a low rating because I did not pay much for it and I did not expect much from it. I am giving 3 stars for the app due to the inability to use it to setup. The app just could not find the unit until I set it up by connecting to it directly through its IP and setting it up that way. Once I set it up, I immediately removed internet access from it.

Works Great
Works as advertised. Easy to setup and does job exactly as intended. Automatically resets our cable modem/router when the internet drops. Very useful when away from home and internet connection for security cameras.
