Great magnifier for the price! Made with quality. Not cheap like NCstar
Magnifier works great. Exactly what I needed on my M&P15-22. Used with a Vortex flip mount.

Nice glass
Works great paired with my EO Tech. There is only about an inch of eye relief is the only issue but anything over 3x has similar issues. I have not had any issues with getting clocked on recoil.

Scope - GREAT. Included Mount - CROOKED.
The GOOD:The optics on the 7x mount is great. The eye relief is rather short (approx 2 inches), but that's normal from a higher magnification scope of this type. The BAD:Included scope mount is crooked. Cannot see the center of the holographic sight while using the magnifier. I tried mounting this on 3 different picatinny rails, I flipped the scope mountaround and reattached the scope and still the same problem in the other direction. Also, the detachable mount does not lock down to the mount attached to the rail. So there's play between the detachable portion and the part that's connected to the rail. Not good. A shame, really.I don't want to spend another $50 to $150 on a mount.3 Stars for the rather nice scope. If you have another 30mm mounting ring that aligns with your holographic or red dot sight then buy this! The scope itself is great.Regretfully, I returned the scope.

Not 7x
I own 4 of these magnifiers and can unequivocally certify they are only 4x and not 7x. Continue reading if you are interested in my test process which anyone can do and can be used to test any optics. But first I want to iterate these Mako magnification specs are in-fact deceitfully printed along the ring of each unit, as well as in its listed advertising. This was a very disappointing revelation given the Mako Group's name used to be a sign of quality. All deceit aside, these bogus 7x (4x actual) units do appear to live up to the remaining specs as listed -i.e., Heavy duty, Rubber Armored, Multi-coated lenses, Nitrogen purged, shockproof, waterproof, and fogproof.I have owned these magnifiers for quite some time now and only recently noticed questionable reviews that led me to investigate further. My quest to ascertain the actual magnification factor was conducted as follows:In order to establish a test bases for accuracy I used binoculars (3x to 10x) and a rifle scope (4x to 16x). First I compared both against one another to verify they were accurately displaying subjects at the same size when set to the same matching magnifications. This was accomplished by setting the binoculars and the scope each to a power of 7x and looking through both at the same time. I looked at a target through one side of the binoculars using my left eye while viewing it through the scope using my right eye. I then slightly moved both the optics around until the sight picture in both eyes appeared aligned just the same as if looking through regular binoculars. From this perspective it is quite easy to determine if the target subject matches the same size in both eyes. These two test optics were dead on at 7x. I then adjusted them to other varying magnifications and was able to confirmed matching accuracy each time.I then tested this process using the Mako magnifier in the left eye and the scope set to the same 7x power in the right eye - to which a very disappointing difference in magnification was confirmed. Thereafter I adjusted the scope down until the magnification appeared the same as the Mako, and that was concluded to be only 4x. I reproduced the same results using the binoculars. There is no doubt we have been scammed. It has been so long since my purchase that I doubt I am eligible for any type of recourse. But at least I can post this review and hopefully spare others from the same deceit. I'd also encourage others that already own these magnifiers to run the same test and post your results here. Maybe we can see if I bought a bad batch (doubtful) or if this is widespread.

works as a Magnifying glass, but not a reflex magnifier
I set this on my table, thinking i was "doing it wrong". I started them out touching and slowly worked them apart and was not able to get the reflex rectal in focus. Also, the mount that comes with it was never really locked in, And as i moved the glass around the rectal moved to different places on the target i was looking at. I was never confident that this was able to get me on target. If you are looking through the sight and you look at the edges of the glass it gets distorted and blurry (cheap glass). Granted this is NOT an expensive magnifier, but I would expect the rectal to be able to be in focus as this is what it is designed for. Also, the eye-relief is about 3"-3/1/2" which for my application (mounting on an SG Works bullpup kit) is not anywhere near far enough away. The only positive thing I can say about this is I do like the design, it feels solid and it does magnify your target.

Good value for the money, better zoom than 3x but not really a 7x.
Can't really complain about clarity or focus. Zoom ain't 7x but it's way better than 3x. Not a great mount but works fine on the AR15-22 and for a lens and mount combo for under $50 it's a great deal.

Exceeded Expectations
I bought this magnifier to play with at the range. I have it mounted on a Daniel Defense M4V5 behind an Aimpoint PRO.I also purchased the "UTG Max Strength LE Grade Quick Detach Picatinny High Profile Rings". The alignment is almost perfect and gives an exceptionally clear sight picture. The magnifier feels very solid and the focus ring has the perfect amount of resistance. I was able to achieve 2'' groups at 100 yards using 77grain Noslers.I you are looking for a magnifier to take into combat, I would look into the proven brands such as aimpoint or eotech, but if you are merely looking to add more versatility to your red dot sight, the Mako 7x Magnifier is the perfect solution.
