The Best Cook in the World: Tales from My Momma's Table Hardcover – Deckle Edge, April 24, 2018

As someone who has grown up and lived in the south with a farmer for a grandfather and an amazing cook for a grandmother this book brought back great memories. I wish I could eat at Mrs. Bragg’s table. Rick has, once again, written a great book.

An amazing book of family, community and appreciation for the lives of working people of the south. I loved the stories behind the recipes and I will use this book as a reference in my cooking. Thank you for sharing your life and family with us.

The book was good just wasn’t for me! I thought it had more recipes in it, but it was more about his family!

I'm no cook, but I do enjoy excellent writing and Rick Bragg is probably the best writer of this generation.

As good as this book is, I can’t say it is the best book I ever read, but I believe it’s the funniest. The stories are great and it does justice to Southern cooking.

Rick tells wonderful tales about family, tradition and cooking. I absolutely loved this book! It was so funny but real! Cooking is my favorite thing. I relate so well to the family traditions and passing down of cooking styles and recipes. I highly recommend this book if you like funny stories and family tradition.

This book is the story of a family and the food they enjoyed. Life was very difficult for these people and a good cook was important since a tasty meal was often the best part of their day. A story of the life of the farmers and blue collar workers of the rural Deep South through several generations (with recipes).

Loved this book.

It’s a large book because there is much to tell in his family history. It’s all from times past but there are some good recipes. I’m not from the South but I’m going to try some these recipes since they sound so good.
