Steamist SM-7 7 kW Steam Generator

This steamer does not handle the volume of the shower as it stated. It takes much too long for the shower to fill with steam. This is definitely a case of "I should have bought the next size up".

We've used this everyday in the winter for two years now. It replaced a Steamist unit that rusted through after 14 years of service. It allowed me to use all the existing hardware, piping and controls.

There is something wrong when you purchase an item with no control and there is no mention that a control is not included. This item cost about $1,500 and only after it was installed was I told that a control was needed costing another $400+. Very poor product description. Since I wrote this first report I have had now 4 visits from the electrician and a long talk with the manager from Steamist telling us what to do. . The item still doesn't work. My next call will be to the Connecticut Better Business Bureau.

I purchased this product as a replacement unit for The SM – 46 as the 46 has been discontinued. The only physical difference between this and the 46 is that the 46 was piped with a 1/2" copper line for steam output and the sm-7 is piped with 3/4". as soon as i noticed this difference, i called steamist and they assured me that there would not be any problems with connecting this 3/4 pipe to the existing 1/2" plumbing that I have running through the house from the steam unit to the shower. This unit works much better than the original sm-46 in terms of output and overall I'm very happy with it.

A bit pricey, but enjoyable. Still learning to make the best use of it, the cost of repairing the old one was almost the cost of a new one.

Works just as expected. Can't ask for anything more. Makes steam like a pro. Can't believe they have a word count requirement for reviews. What am i in High School.

I am a plumber and this unit is the best, no complaints.

We've had this for a few weeks now. I'm very impressed with how gentle and relaxing this is. I much prefer it to a dry sauna.
