Lian Li UNI Fan TL LCD 120 Reverse Blade/White/Triple Pack/with Controller - 12RTLLCD3W.US

I purchased an open box unit, and was initially unable to get the software to work in order to upload a custom image/video/GIF to the screens. I determined that this was due to a fault in a single one of the fans (the one I had plugged into the cable), as the other two fan screens worked fine once that fan was removed. I contacted customer service about this issue along with pictures of the non-functional fan, and they immediately sent me a single replacement fan that arrived within 2 days, and did not even make me go through the trouble of returning the single defective fan. I have had zero issue in the past few months since.Only needing a single wire for power, fan control, addressable RGB LED control, and LCD video data for 3 separate fans make this so easy to install, since this would require a minimum of 12 wires if I had used another brand. I used these to replace the fans on a 360mm AiO radiator, and they are efficient enough that I never have to ramp them up to full speed to maintain adequate temps. With only a single wire it took just a few minutes to install, and I only had to manage/hide one cable, so the setup is very clean. The L-connect software used to control the fans/LEDs/LCDs is a bit cheap looking, and does some weird things sometimes (I.e., last time I opened the program, it wouldn't allow me to upload new .mp4 files, but if I converted the file to a .GIF, it would work fine), but once you have things set up there is no need to touch it (unless you want to change anything.)The fans each have an EEPROM for the LCD screen, so when powered on they automatically display whatever they were set to the last time before being powered off. You don't have to constantly run the fan software or open it every time you start your PC to get the screens to display whatever you want. Mentioning this since I did not see anything stating this explicitly before I bought it, and was concerned it wouldn't retain the settings.Overall the quality of the fans feel great, they were packaged well, and I have nothing negative to say.

The most advanced fans available on the market. How could a standard fan be enhanced further? Incorporating an LCD display in the center of it is the most effective way to do so.

I got the triple set of these LCD fans for a custom build however they just don't work very well at all. I was putting them on radiators for a water loop however the L3 software only reads the CPU and GPU temperatures. No practical way to have the controller to read the water temperature of the loop to base a cooling curve from. The only way is to plug the PWM wire into the motherboard, the temperature sensor into the motherboard then use the bios to manage the cooling curve. The problem with this is having to access the bios if you would like to make adjustments and assuming your motherboard supports it.The biggest complaint I have though is that the LCD screens were not functional. Flickering off and just defaulting to the base Lian Li logo. The latest firmware was applied to the fans and controller with L3 connect updated to the latest version, but nothing I've tried to get these screens to work made a difference. They might work for a minute or two before flickering and causing my PC to make the USB connect/disconnect sounds for a minute or two before it gives up and sticks the logo on the screen and the computer telling me the USB device is not supported or not functional (Windows 11 Professional).The Strimmers and basic 3 pack of fans without LCD Screens work fairly well and despite the 3 pack with LCD screens not functioning properly at least the fans spin and operate. I have them set to a constant speed to at least keep the PC cool.If I was to go back in time prior to buying the LCD fans I would have skipped the LCD fans and went with the basic Lian Li fans (without LCD screens) and possibly installed a sensor panel or scrapped the display option all together.The materials and quality of build otherwise seems pretty good, the execution and reliability of the screens is lacking.

The media could not be loaded. I gave 4 stars because I had to exchange a few due to them being defective other than that they’re super nice. It also took me a while to get all the fan working correctly. I had to change the order that they were in before installing them into the case. So I would recommend daisy chaining them and testing them before u install them.

This is your go to fans, LCD looks amazing, very easy to set up with L3 connect software.
