Very clear time projection.
I bought this just for the clock feature, so I can't comment on the radio quality. I was happy with the light brightness of the projectioned time, not too bright, not too dim.... since that is not adjustable , that's important. The projection is focusable and can be flipped. The large blue numbers on the clock are good too. Easy to operate. I don't have any cons.

Big bright numbers. Projecting the time on the ceiling is super clever.
My 7 year-old son had been asking me for an alarm clock for a while. So I decided to give this clock a try and test it before I put it in his room. It is priced right, has big easy to read numbers, and has a radio (more in this later), which were the basic requirements for his clock.-DisplayThe numbers are big, bright, and very easy to read. You can dim the display if you are sensitive to light at night. What really impressed me was that even at the brightest setting, only the numbers get brighter and not the background. I've used clocks, in the past, where the whole screen brightens, instead of just the numbers when you increase the brightness. This is important to me, as my eyes are very sensitive to light in the dark.-RadioThis is no audiophile's device. There is a speaker and an AM/FM tuner. The sound comes out tinny and thin with very little bottom end. I won't ding them on this because my expectation was never that it would be a fantastic sounding device. I expected it to function, and it does.-Projecting the time on CeilingI thought this was a gimmick and that I would just never turn it on. My fear was that it would generate light like a night-light, which is a no-no for me (see my previous comment about light sensitivity). I was pleasantly surprised that it generated almost no extra light, other than the time on the ceiling. And that was not offensively bright either. Being able to open my eyes and see the time above me, instead of awkwardly turning my body to look at the time, is now my new favorite thing. I may just have to buy one for me as well.-BonusIts got a USB port to charge electronic devices. Not that interesting for my son, but if I buy one for myself, it will certainly be interesting.I'm a thumbs up on this device.

I mostly like this clock
I got this clock last week and so far I like it. I just wanted to note a couple of things that weren't mentioned in the product description or in other reviews, as far as I saw. First, the ceiling projection feature: if you have the clock on a table at the head of your bed and it's facing you, as it normally would be, the ceiling projection is upside down. For example, 5:02 reads as 2:05. What I finally figured out is that the ceiling projection is supposed to be used with the back of the clock facing the user. I guess that's for people who are very light sensitive? If you look at the picture that accompanies this item, you will see the clock facing away from a couch, with the projection on the ceiling above the couch. I'm a side sleeper and thought it would be convenient to be able to see the time without turning over, but I can't use the projection for that if it's upside down, especially half asleep! So be aware of that if the ceiling projection is a major issue for you. I did try turning the projection bar the full 180 and it was still upside down. The other thing is the radio. It works fine and has surprisingly robust reception. It even has a thin black wire antenna to boost reception. Not the prettiest thing, but it does work. Anyway, I followed the instructions to set the station I wanted to use as an alarm. After setting it reverted to some strange frequency before going through with saving the setting. But when the alarm went off the next morning it didn't turn on the radio station I set, but went to something else (AM, I think) that was just static. It was weird, because I know I set the station correctly. So I will use the buzzer instead. I only listen to it for a minute anyway, then get out of bed. The buzzer is actually more of a pleasant dinging sound, that gets progressively louder until you turn it off, up to the volume level you set. The volume level shows on the display when you are setting the alarm. It is numbered and it plays a sample of each level when you are setting the alarm. So overall, I do like this clock. The projection and radio issues are minor. I like the cool blue light. It's easy to program (except the radio as alarm thing). I would definitely recommend it.

GREAT LIGHT MANAGEMENT
This is THE GREATEST ALARM ever sold. The projection thing IS visible at night, but that is not the key. Yeah, it can be focused, flipped and projected onto a wall or ceiling, but so what? the clock face is closest to your face in any event.IMPORTANT: the clock face has THREE levels of dimming, so if the light is too bright for sleeping, you can tune it down a notch or two.Who cares about the radio. The USB charger is perfectly adequate, but mostly it serves to free up one outlet, since you can plug your phone into the clock.

I bought this because the power in my neighborhood goes out. THe battery back up does not EVEN WORK
I am extremely disappointed. I bought this particular model because it has battery back up in case of power outages and I liked the dimmer. I found out beyond the return item date that the battery back up does not work. I will be in a terrible situation if my power goes out when I am asleep. I am a nurse and I work midnights. The product does charge your phone, it does have a moderately bright LED time display but not super bright. THE MAIN REASON I BOUGHT THIS FOR BATTERY BACK UP AND peace of mind that I will still be awakened DOES NOT WORK> I made sure there were new batteries TWICE> Faulty product in some ways and excellent in others.

Projection Works
I didn't need the radio function. I only bought this clock to project the time on my bedroom ceiling at night. It works just fine. The brightness adjustment for both the projection and on the clock itself have a very wide range. I have both set on very dim, just enough to read on the ceiling without it becoming a night light. Note that with the brightness on the lowest setting the projection numbers can't be seen during the day. The only thing I had issue with was the form of the digital numbers. They were a little hard to read at first but I got used to it quickly and have no problem reading them now.

Great purchase at a good price
Great purchase at a good price. Was gift my my son - he loves the fact that he can view the time by just looking at the ceiling. He's also enjoyed experimenting by projecting the time on the wall of his room.Tip: For this price point, the sound is pretty good but don't expect high end stereo quality.
