heats up fast
my edc is a surefire g2x 400 lumens tactical that I've had for a long, long time...if this ever burns out, I'll upgrade to the 600 lumens black tactical...this g2x max vision unit is shorter by 3/8" and a tad lighter. the hi-beam is wider than my edc and is ideal for quick scanning large halls or rooms, convention center halls, wide corridors, lighting up occupied cars, & wall lines with or without shrubbery. the lo-beam is much less than my edc and is fantastic for taking notes in the darkest of nights. I pop it in my mouth while I jot down a few notes. being a night security guard, I keep this in my pocket, the edc on my belt.the beam is bright white. if you need wide angle light, this Maxvision is a "get-one". if you need an alternate beam pattern, then this Maxvision is a must have. you cannot miss if you want to light up large areas or vehicles.warning: this Maxvision heats up fast. I do not recommend leaving it on hi-beam for longer than 7 seconds. not sure of the consequences if left on hi-beam for any length of time.do I recommend? yes, indeed. surefire produces a high quality, durable, rugged product. this Maxvision is no exception to that level of quality. the beam pattern is wider, the light very bright. batteries are easy to obtain. there are no beam adjustments.I am proud to be the owner of 2 Surefire flashlights.

Wide flood beam...not a spot light...very bright!
Bright and sturdy...just be aware that this is more of a flood light than a center beam. Perfect if that's what you need. SureFire and Streamlight are the best IMO!

Perfect for EDC with the speed holster on your belt
Best EDC light I've had yet. Currently testing how hot it will get on high setting using a Ryobi temp gun. Max heat so far at the metal end of the light is 159.8f after 15 minutes constant on high power in ambient temperature of 73f. Definitely appreciate the warning printed on the metal end now. Is still very useable in hand as the polymer handle protion is only 108f at 15 minutes constant on high setting.Upon removing the batteries, they came out looking good at 117.9f after 15 minutes on high setting.Nothing to worry about here. The metal interior design where the batteries are housed reassures me of the quality of this fantastic piece of kit.Yes it's relatively expensive, but far exceeds those cheaper $30 lights you find elsewhere online. And with the speed holster, by surefire, it's a perfect addition to any EDC rig or duty belt.

Excellent Torch
This torch has replaced my 800 lumens SureFire I used to regularly carry. Plastic body but with an aluminum head (careful, it heats up quickly on high mode!), and with two power settings at a simple click of the tailpiece button... wonderful. My new favorite torch.

Package was opened
The package was opened and batteries were installed in the flashlight. Was not the same batteries that came with the package. Was this flashlight used and returned?

Bright, light weight, gets hot quick
Small but very bright light. This product gets very hot quickly when using the brightest setting.I understand most lights heat up quickly when set on the higher lumen settings but this one gets exceptionally hot.
