It was a nightmare
I returned this printer. I print 3 part bills of lading and truck labels. First of all, it was almost impossible to feed and load either. Then the printer tore the holes of the Labels after printing about three or four. The first few bills of lading would print correctly, then they would skew, or the lines would print on top of each other. This would have been my third Epson impact printer. I couldn’t risk the time delay of trying another so I went to the Epson site and bought a refurb of the older printer that had finally died. I couldn’t give it no stars or I would have.

Quieter than the LQ-590.
I had to purchase these because Epson discontinued the LQ-590 line and this was a similar replacement. The printhead is 9-pin as opposed to the 24-pin in the 590, which does come in to play on fine printing and small fonts. Also the printable area on this printer is not the same as the 590 (it's smaller, even on continuous paper) so I had to change the invoice paper for my company. So far there hasn't been any reliability issues and we printer approximately 50 3-ply invoices on it daily. Last note and the reason a star is knocked off - the driver version on this is ESC/P version 1, not version 2 like the 590 and several other dot matrix printers from Epson. If you print images on your 3-ply you may have some issues on version 1.

Very bad instructions, nothing is clear on who to set it up don’t buy it look for something else.

I wanted a 24 pin. By mistake I bought this one. Very fast. Seems to be very economical. Not too loud. It is written : Operating system: Windows. But it is even easier to install on a Debian linux, even on a Raspberry Pi 4 Os... So I'm very happy about this product. It's a keeper. I will soon test the old esc/p code compatibility. If there is any problem I'll write it down here. It uses a mechanical on/off switch. Then it is possible to print your documents during the night if you leave the printer on, and use an inexpensive IOT electrical outlet to turn on/off your server and your printer via internet... 9 pin quality.
