Sewing Machine Light LED Flexible Gooseneck Work Lamp with Magnetic Mount Base for Workbench Lathe Drill Press

I have a metal machine and it adheres to it very well. HOWEVER, getting the circular adhesive and the magnet that adheres to it in alignment proved futile the first time. Getting those two off the machine was impossible unless I used pliers to remove them. So with one set left, I was able to get it more aligned. Very strong magnet adherence and so far the light is bright. Hoping this has longevity as the strip light set I tried just didn't give me enough light.

I got this light to help me see the sewing area of my machine better. I quilt and this has made a big difference! It lights up the area well. I mounted it on the top of my machine, and positioned the light so that it is pointed at the needle area, and away from my eyes. I appreciate that the light included 2 mounting tapes and metal plates. I changed where I had the light after a few days. It was nice to have a second mounting option.

This magnetic lamp base shows the goose-neck sticking out from the side. This is not a table lamp. The magnet on the base allows you to stick it to any magnetic surface (Not all metal is magnetic), and then adjust the neck to suit your directional preference on the lamp. It's not meant to support it's own weight, sitting on a table. If you use it as intended, adhered to a surface that will hold a magnet, it works as intended.That said, most modern sewing machines don't have metal casings anymore, so it probably wouldn't work well for that, but I have a metal clip that I attached to my computer desk, and stuck it to that. The magnet is plenty strong to hold it to the metal, and I can aim it in any direction. So far, it stays where I put it.The light is not super bright, & it's not going to throw a lot of light during the day, so if you're doing super fine work, and need a lot of light, this probably isn't the one. If you're wanting a bit more light for a small area, then this is very nice for directional lighting. (My laptop sits inside a roll top desk, and very little light hits it in there. This illuminates the keyboard nicely, when I'm looking for that seldom used key, and can't quite see it.)My first one seemed way too dim, and I was about to return it, when I gave Customer service a try first. Surprisingly, they were immediately on the job, and sent me a new one, which is brighter. No hassles, no pictures, no mail it back. Just Bam - try this one, just a few days later.Very happy with a pleasant Customer service experience. A rare thing indeed.

Perfect complement to a great sewing machine.

The light itself is great. It is nice for lighting up my sewing area, but I have a vintage machine and it will not stick to it, so I’ve awkwardly used the light by setting it on top of some metal appliqué scissors on my table as that is one of the things that it will adhere too.The magnet itself works, but since it will not stick to my machine, I have trouble using it. The design is such that this light can’t sit on a table or other surfaces without falling, so if it won’t stick to your sewing machine, good luck!It’s not a bad light and I do think it is worth the money, but it only works well if your sewing machine or surface has enough metal in the right place to adhere it. If it doesn’t, you have to rig this thing to work and the base is very awkward with the cord placement and the light so it isn’t balanced and will fall over.We tried command strips on the top of the sewing machine, but it fell off. We also tried command strips with a small metal washer but that didn’t work either as the weight of the light caused it to be imbalanced and the light fell off.I may try command strips again later and put a large washer on it. But if that doesn’t work, then I’m kind of stuck unless I can find a metal box or something.

I am very happy with this purchase! I used to use a head lamp and it was annoying. My sewing machine doesn't have its own light so this is a great addition. It is now affixed to my sewing machine & it all still fits inside my sewing machine bag.

When I first opened it up I was a bit disappointed as I wanted it for my industrial sewing machine for a work light .I was VERY surprised once I stuck it on machine and turned it on! This little gem not only takes up less space than my old incandescent light its much MUCH brighter! I tried it on the end of my wood lathe just to see how it would work for detail work, and again it did not disappoint.Neighbor saw it and asked if I could get him a few when I place next order. Fantastic little light and a great price.

I purchased this magnetic LED light for use on a lathe as I turn wood. The magnet is strong and stays stable on the lathe. The adjustable neck on the LED light is great for directing the light as required. I would purchase this light again.
