Buxton Heiress Ensemble Clutch Wallet

I struggled to decide whether to give this clutch 3 or 4 stars. I decided that because it has so many positive aspects, the bad things about it were overshadowed by them. So here it is...The GOOD: This is very beautifully made, the leather is very supple, and the color quite deep. The zippers move easily, and there is room for all kinds of stuff in different types of pockets and spaces. There are more pockets than I can count.The BAD: Starting with the pockets, while it's awesome how many there are, I have a very hard time getting anything into any of them. They're sized just a millimeter or so too small. Unfortunately that makes them pretty useless to me. I have cards that I would love to put in certain spots, but I'm afraid to stretch the leather with the card, in case it were to tear. My other complaint is simply a design issue. Wouldn't it be great if that snap was magnetic, and when you closed it, the snap gripped together? As it is, I tend to have to pull on the tab to get it positioned where I want.The CONCLUSION: This is a great clutch/wallet. Definitely worth the price. I enjoy having it, and hope that as I use it, the inside pockets will stretch out on their own. I've also wondered about using some oil to condition the leather and make those pockets a little wider. Basically a good product, at a good price.

We all have our own way of organizing the 'must haves' of daily life. To avoid the lengthy and tedious process it can be to find just the right wallet to do that, I held onto mine until it literally fell apart. Browsing through Amazon, I was delighted to find Buxton because of past experience with this brand. I ordered one and could not be more pleased. The construction is excellent with quality stitching, the zippers glide effortlessly, and there are plentiful compartments. I noticed some complaints about paper bills having to be folded but mine fit in several places just fine and with room to spare. It occurred to me that some people might be using other than US currency or maybe there's a difference in the compartment design depending on when the wallet was manufactured? I would think it standard but perhaps that is not the case. This wallet gets high marks from me for appearance and utility. So far, only one issue and it is temporary: The credit card slots are the right size but a bit snug. Let's just say I have no fear of a card slipping out by accident. I know the leather will stretch a little over time and make removal easier but for now, it's something of a wrestling match and entertaining to cashiers everywhere I go. Perhaps it is a clever safeguard put forth by Buxton to curb excessive spending. :)

I always come back to Buxton for wallets. This one has a place for everything, and I do mean everything! I really like the currency compartment--there are two slots for bills and a center zippered compartment for coins, receipts, or large denominations. There's also a change pouch in front for easy access. There are almost enough card slots, and there are a number of plastic sleeves if you run out of slots. For some reason the slots are not of uniform size and I had to do some finagling to make some of my cards fit. I also wish the snap flap went over the currency compartment so I didn't have to keep it zipped, but I'll get used to it, and I'm sure the leather slots will loosen up with use.After an exhaustive online and in store search, I've decided that this clutch gives the best bang for the buck. Mine is red, and it's a rich, not fire engine color. I'm very pleased.

It is a very nice wallet. Has everything I was looking for. Only problem I have with it is the card slots are way too tight. If you are inserting a credit card type you can force them in the slots. But if it's a like a business card or flimsy material it just dont go. Also for those needing a plastic flap for duplicate checks this wallet does not have one. I purchased a pack of 5 divider inserts to use with this wallet and to have back ups. It does have a pocket for a pen too which I am so happy about.Review update: I have had wallet about 4 months. After about 2 months the credit card slots loosened up so it is easier to get cards in & out. Wallet is perfect otherwise

Great quality leather wallet, goes well with my new purse and also my with my older purse I have. I needed a new wallet and wanted something different this time. -Instead of getting a regular bi-fold type of wallet, This type is more like the checkbook type. It has a place to put your check book, and it also has a separate place just for your id. It also has 2 separate places you to put for your pictures, gift cards, or credit cards, or store cards,what ever kind of card you carry these days. - It has 2 places where you can place your coins, one is inside the wallet the other is outside in a zippered compartment.-Inside the wallet there is ma eezippered part for you to safe guard your valuables.'The price for this wallet is also very reasonable as well.You can also match the wallet to your purse so you are looking fashion forward!- I would recommend this Buxton Heir wallet is really nice quality, nicely made, comes in a variety of different colors.

I received my clutch in record time and I am very pleased with the size, color, style, etc. etc. I only have 2 suggestions for the Buxton Leather Company to consider. The individual spaces for credit cards are not long enough. My credit cards (I have the standard ones) are a very tight fit. I am afraid I will eventually tear the stitching if I keep forcing my credit cards into these spaces. I'm just wondering if Buxton ever tried to fit a credit card into these spaces. My second comment is the zipper compartment on the outside, back, of the clutch. Exactly what is this for? It doesn't hold much change and there is a zipper compartment inside the clutch which holds change. Just some thoughts to consider....................However, I really like the clutch and would buy it again. But, hopefully it will last many years.

I love the leather and size. But cards are too big for some slots. Can only use 1 side. Still tight fit.

Looks exactly as it appears on the ad. Took a while to arrive but that was expected. Genuine Baxton.

This was for my wife and she found this wallet to have a few short comings. Firstly the inside part of the wallet that holds cards is way too small in terms of the slots for your credit cards etc. You cannot get them in and if you do manage to get them in, they put so much force on the slots and stitching I am sure that something will tear. Again if you do manage to get a card in you can hardly get it back out.Also the main zipper is rather small and week, so much so it constantly is busting open. It zips back up but when the wallet is full of stuff, money, cards, it bust open all the time. So it isn't of much use.
