TB Davies EnviroFold Extension Piece - Get up to 755mm Additional Floor to Ceiling Height When Used with The EnviroFold loft Ladder

Having an 11ft ceiling I decided on a wooden loft ladder with a hatch, only certain manufacturers offered an extension to get to the height I wanted so I went for this Dolle ladder. The 2.8m ladder itself is fine, very similar to others out there although the instructions were poor, in the end I worked out what I thought would be the easiest way to install it. The disappointment in this ladder became apparent after the extension was fitted and I found out that the ladder can not fold up in the same way as it does as a 3 section ladder. The bottom 3 section have to fold into a triangle, then latched into position and the folded back and latched again. The reason for this is the hinges used on the ladder, there are others with 4 sections on the market that will fold up back on each other neatly because they use a different hinge.As a solution for a higher ceiling I'm sorry I didn't realise this and choose another ladder but it's not pointed out in any literature until you get the assembly instructions.It is a cumbersome solution and I need ladders to actually fold the ladders up.In conclusion, if you have a normal height ceiling there are easier to fit solutions on the market, if you have a high ceiling I would not recommend this ladder.
