Dogar Tabac – Bedside Table, 3 Drawers

I got this item at a slightly reduced price from Amazon Warehouse, meaning somebody else had returned it beforehand without even assembling it. When I opened it and spread the pieces out I could see why - despite being made of real wood there's a very cheap look and feel to it.I almost returned it again myself when I realised that it don't have real runners for the drawers - they just have a slot in the wood side panel that slides over a plastic ledge on the inside of the unit. It's not a smooth 'mechanism' even without stuff in the drawers, and I expect it'll be worse when I fill them.Assembly was neither better nor worse than any bit of flat pack furniture. The real wood means it's less likely to crumble as you put screws in it, but that's a good job because there are several that go in at slightly nasty angles. There were spares for some of the screws and dowels, which is nice.The handles feel like metal, but look like cheap plastic, which is unfortunate. The wood isn't as black as it is in the photos, but a random mix of shades from 'nearly' black to dark brown - which is even more unfortunate. And as other reviews have mentioned, the pieces don't fit together as well as the photos on the listing; there are gaps down one or both sides of each drawer - they don't even line up with each other, let alone with the shell.On the plus side, the unit as a whole does feel solid and stable now that it's together, and it shouldn't fall apart as quickly as MDF furniture does. Although it looks a bit like it halfway fell apart already.I would recommend not buying this unit for anywhere near the current list price of £40, nor for the £34 I paid. If it comes down to £20-25 or so then it's possibly worth it for the solid wood.

Yes, there are ugly gaps between draws and sides, draws opening is a bit sticky/uneven, assembly of it took around 3 hours (instructions say 30 mins) and was difficult as only some parts were labelled. (N.b. base of drawers not a perfect square and need to be in right way to fully slot in).But, it's one of the cheapest bedside tables on amazon, and it actually looks really nice. From across the room you cant tell it's not a high end product. Whilst the assembly was unclear, once you figure out what you're meant to do, doing it was relatively straight forward - all the holes lined up and parts fitted together.The colour is mainly black, with shades of dark brown (not jet black or medium brown as some of the product pictures suggest)

Nice item but had to return thought it was black but it’s a very dark brown returned with no complaints thank you
