Happy with this purchase
I've never used a chainsaw before so I don't know much about them but it works fine I'm really happy with it. Only issues is that the thing that keeps the chain tight isn't great. it slips quite a bit and I have to keep an eye on it and keep tightening it up. But it was very cheap so... pah... I'll keep tightening the chain

disapointed with web back up.
the saw was easy to asemble , instructions clear, used for about a hour no problems suddenly chain came off sprocket inside adjuster cover on inspection found sprocket retaining device ( i suspect a circlip) was no longer in place allowing sprocket to come off and the chain become detached. cannot find referance to the missing part on any web site and am having difficulty in sourceing a replacement, must confess am a bit disapointed that what seems to be a good product is spoilt by such a insignificiant part.

Exceeded expectations
When my father's petrol chain saw stopped working, he resorted to getting me to chop his logs with an axe. Great if you know what you are doing and have a bit of muscle; useless for me. Cue Birthday, and I treated him (me) to this. Was a bit unsure if an electric one would cut the mustard (and the logs for that matter), but I needn't have worried. Of course, you are bound by the range of your electrical, but with the supplied (fixed) chord, and an extension, I could reach the far end of the garden.Starting is a breeze - pull back the safety handle, press the safety button, and then squeeze the trigger. Starts every time. Not like the petrol one which constantly was problematic to start. This is lighter than the petrol one, and quieter. But the main thing is what can it cut? The widest logs I had to cut were a little over 14", and I left them until last, thinking it might be a problem. It wasn't. This chainsaw is excellent. My wood knowledge is not brilliant, but I think there was ash and birch trees I was cutting, and conifers. Mixture of some quite hard dense wood, and some not so hard, but this chainsaw got through them all.He still had me splitting the sections in half with an axe!

Cannot go wrong with this.
I bought this for cutting railway sleepers (softwood), and knew it wasn't going to get used every day so was reluctant to pay too much. This turned out to be perfect for the job, cutting through 8 inches of sleeper with ease. Way lighter than a petrol chainsaw, so much easier to get the smooth straight cuts you need for a good finish. It doesn't "push" excessively, so you don't end up unwittingly cutting in the kickback zone (which is more than a good thing). It's way quieter than a petrol. Was easy to put together, and the flex is a nice length. Very happy with this chainsaw, thank you.

Cuts through thick branches and trees like a knife through butter
I was rather reluctant to operate such a dangerous tool but I've overcome all that: it is rather light and easy to handle and has assuring safety features. I used car engine oil to lubricate it and works very smooth. Great value for money.

Mine had a faulty chain tightening system.
Ok .. to be clear .. I have sent my unit back with no fuss or delay. Return was by free courier collect. And I was offered a replacement unit but declined. Here's why ....I spent 95% of my time with this chainsaw undoing the cover and tightening the chain or putting the chain back on! I was genuinely terrified most of the time because of this. Can you imagine a chain flying off?I couldn't face going through that again. The chain is held in place with a hand-tightened plastic knob. I'm no weakling but no matter how hard I tightened it .. the chain would blacken off .. leaving about 2" hanging down .. every time it stopped. In the interest of fairness .. when it worked for the first 10 minutes.. it cut through wood like butter. But the chain stopped cutting after about 30 mins of use. I had bought a spare directly from Oregon .. fitted it (correctly .. I checked) same thing .. awesome for 15 mins or so .. then it just caused some gentle bruising to the tree stump. Other reviews had the same slack chain issue. So I cannot recommend this one at all Sorry.

Not a 'Sore' review lol
Big, powerful, cut through a 16" stump.Only use it occasionally, but when I need it, I'm glad to have it.A very useful compliment to have in your workshop.
