Very comfortable for rough terrain, waterproof but a small part of heel got clipped.

Comfortable and well made
The wide fitting is great - the Vibram sole comfortable on all sorts of terrain. Only thing to be aware of are that these ones are not water resistant in the uppers. There is a gore-tex version of this model but this is not it.

VERY SATISFYING PURCHASE
I was pleasantly surprised by the additional discount I got on the item on top of the very reasonable already discounted from listed price. I realised the Moab 3 seems to be more sturdily constructed than the waterproofed or Gortex ones. Besides, after trying two earlier pairs of Gortex versions, which I found to be not that "waterproof" after all, and took a long time to dry, I think I will like this one better.

Best shoe, best value, great for Rocky terrain
My first hiking boots. I am 55. I hiked 5 miles with my dad in East Tennessee on rocky moderate trails. These boots were sturdy. My ankles didn’t roll and I did not slip or fall. These shoes gave me the perfect support all day. No hot spots or blisters. I did wear hiking socks. I did need to order 1/2 size up to make space for the thick socks. I love these boots. I met others on the trail who have the same boots for over 10 years. They are an investment in your adventure. I tried on many others at a REI store. These fit and felt the best at a very reasonable price. Of course, Amazon was $40 cheaper than REI.

Fit great like trainers!
Love these! It’s my 3rd pair of merrell boots to date and I’ve loved all three. Fit like trainers and comfy from the start. Didn’t even need breaking in and I ordered a size 6, the fit is bang on. I have quite wide feet with a high instep and sometimes need to buy a 7 to get the width…. Not with these, great boots!! Mine get wet a lot so need spraying every 10 wears.
