My son loves his snow cones. This easy to use shaver makes it convenient to get snow cones sooner than waiting for the snow cone guy.

Works well when I used my large ice cubes from my molds. Didn't mind the few larger chunks it left. But what caused me to take a star off was that I wished the top had a locking mechanism so it wouldn't attempt to open while I'm cranking the handle. Plus it moved a bit so I wished it had a way to succession onto the counter top.

I bought three different ice shavers for my kiddo’s birthday party. I wasn’t sure which would work best, and the reviews on all of the inexpensive ice shavers were mixed. This one was our favorite of the three. This style shaver that has the ice puck—rather than using normal ice—definitely creates fluffier shaved ice. Also, this one came with a catch tray for the ice, which another in a similar style did not. For the price, it feels pretty high quality.

It sometimes leaves ice chunks in the dessert. Otherwise it is perfect and affordable!

The product itself is okay but this is how my package was delivered. I am very disappointed. This is supposed to be a Christmas gift and the box is completely mangled.

I love this hand-cranked shaved ice machine! I used this to produce shaved ice for the Filipino dessert, halo-halo. This dessert is prepared by layering sweet beans, ube, jackfruit, plantain, flan, etc., followed by shaved ice, a few teaspoons of evaporated milk and scoops of ube ice cream. To use this shaved ice machine to produce fine, fluffy shaved ice, you want to use a big block of ice (such as the one from the included ice mold). If you use ice cubes, you will get chunky shaved ice. For my halo-halo, chunky shaved ice works well. This shaved ice machine is super-easy to use. Open the lid, put the ice into the canister, secure the lid and start turning the handle. The shaved ice falls into a small clear container. One small but nice feature is the rubber ring located under the shaver. This rubber keeps the shaver from slipping as you turn the handle. Compared to the Basswood manual ice shaver we bought this one is much lower output, harder to crank, only makes very fine shavings not best for snow cones, and is much harder to open and close.
