Great Comfortable Headphones
I was searching for a pair of headphones that I could use while running inside, and I came across these. There was an older model that had some mixed reviews, but this one had none, and I couldn't find any reviews online. However, for the price tag (which was much cheaper than $150 Monsters that seemed to be a good choice), I went ahead and invested. I've found that if you invest with the right brand (such as Sennheiser, AKG, etc.) rather than some other "brand" that markets well (such as Yurbuds, Beats by Dre, etc.), you'll definitely get a good sounding product no matter what.I must say that I have been quite impressed. They arrived in two days, and their packaging was beautiful and easy to open. The product includes a carrying bag, a simple cable clip, a cleaning tool, three different sizes of silicon tips, and the headphones. The build for the most part is solid, with a sturdy reinforced L-plug (with a slightly oblique angle). However, the cable is just like any normal cable, which mean it's prone to tangling and can be a little annoying. However, if you wrap your cables properly (like microphone cables), you can eliminate and avoid tangles.First off, they fit great. I had no trouble figuring out how to put them in my ears, and they were comfortable and stayed put just as they should. The little ear fins that fit into ridges of your ear are also easily adjustable. Throughout a twenty-thirty minute job, I never had an issue with them falling out once, which was a wonderful experience.Secondly, they sound amazing. I also own the Klipsch Image S4 headphones for my own personal listening as a small, portable option for some noise isolation. I'd argue these CX 685s sound just as good as those headphones. The response is very natural. The mids are very clear and present, and the bass is crisp and natural. If anything the highs might have a little edge taken off of them. Overall, I love the sound. They are by far the best-sounding running headphones I have ever heard. They're probably best-appreciated on very articulated music (funk, jazz, older rock). I will admit on newer pop music, I didn't think they sounded quite as good, and got a little muddy and indistinct at times (although they were by no means bad or terrible sounding).Keep in mind that these headphones are in-ear, meaning they seal out outside noise and therefore SHOULD NOT be used for outside running. However, if you're in a gym on a treadmill or lifting weights, I would highly recommend these headphones. They fit great, and they sound great.

Excellent for exercise!
I've been a fan of Sennheiser's earbuds for about three years now. I've owned both the CX 680s and the MX 680is and these have a few improvements on those models. If you hate how some earbuds fall out when you move your head too fast or sweat a lot, these are perfect for you. The earfins really stabilize them so they don't fall out until you take them out. The cords are also very durable, if you're like me and you sometimes pull them out by the wire when someone says something to you. The earbuds are flared so that you get some pretty good isolation and the sound quality is very good. The earbuds are adjustable, although I'm comfortable with the smallest setting. But these will easily fit anyone with very large ears. The shirt clip that comes with them had a small hook slightly smaller than the diameter of the cord but it can still fall out easier than I would like. I just use a small book clip to remedy that. This pair is solidly connected to the wire like the CX 680s but without the volume control or microphone, which I'm not missing because I use an Android phone. I've only had these a few weeks so I don't know how long the rubber buds will stay on but I know with previous ones that within about six months they will start to come off easily, especially if you clean the tubes regularly. Too easily, as a matter of fact. There are replacement buds (small, medium, and large) that come with the headphones, but after my cats either pulled them off or I lost one from pulling the headphones out of a pocket, I decided to order some backup buds from Sennheiser. They were about 9 or 10 dollars, if I recall. Also, since I've only owned them for a short time I can't attest to the durability of their waterproof-ness, but these should be okay in the rain or if you sweat a lot, though I wouldn't go for a swim with them.

Good sound but a MAJOR flaw
I have been searching for a decent pair of running headphones for years. I always end up getting something overhead or that wrap around the ear with the speakers facing forward. This leads to an incredible lack of bass response, but at least the are consistent in sound. With other headphones I'd have to continually push them back into my ear as the sound would start drifting away as the earphone would slip out.I was hoping these might be the answer, but within a minute of putting them on I knew it was doomed. The problem is not the sound which I thought was great. Crisp, clear and very loud. They sounded better than my standard iPhone earbuds, which aren't exactly top-of-the-line, but still. The problem however was that once I put the earphones on, the cord became completely microphonic. If you're a musician, you may have experience the same thing if you've ever tried to plug a guitar in with a speaker cable. The slightest tap or movement of the cable can be heard. It was ridiculous. Without even having them plugged in, if I wiggled the cord around it felt like I was in the middle of an earthquake. I did a test run and every single step was accompanied by a thumping sound that felt like it was coming from inside my head! Imagine the sound of someone tapping on a live microphone. I can't even imagine the headache I would have after a full workout. Worst of all this was nothing that volume could cure because it like the chord becomes an extension of your eardrum. You don't hear it. You actually feel it.I know that not all people are alike. I've read that some people found them uncomfortable. This wasn't the case for me. They also "seemed" to be very secure, but I can't put up with the thumping sound long enough to put them through a true test.I don't know what the suggestion to fix this problem would be but for me it was a total loss.

Amazing Sports Headphones
I bought these because I knew Sennheiser is renown for their amazing products. These definitely fall into that category. They have amazing sound quality, the high notes are crisp and clean and the bass is nice and deep but still smooth sounding. The hooks for your ears are very comfortable and they stay in very well. The cord is long enough to keep your music device in your pocket and still enjoy working out or whatever it is you choose to do with them. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with these and if you are looking for earphones to use in the gym, or just for at home listening even, I would highly recommend these.
