Works well, but didn't fit my cabinets quite right
The good is that it works really well as a can opener, and I especially like that I can get the can going and then leave it to finish while I do other things. The knife sharpener seems okay, but not great, and I expected it to be electric as well, but it's not. It's more like a couple of stones configured to drag the knife across multiple times until you get it sharpened to taste. I haven't used the bottle opener, but I suppose it would probably work fine.I also like the space saving feature of it not sitting on my counter or on a shelf when not in use, which was one of the big reasons I chose this. It hangs under a cabinet in my kitchen, very much out of the way, yet very conveniently located for opening cans as needed. The thing is, it didn't really fit under my cabinet right out of the box. I had to engineer a piece of wood between the underside of my cabinet and the can opener itself to make it work. Luckily, I'm pretty handy at that sort of thing, so I was able to work it out, but it wasn't very easy.My cabinet bottom configuration has a lip that hangs down 1.25" and is 7/8ths of an inch deep. No matter what I tried, I could not get the opener to fit that space and still allow the swing arm on the front of it to open without hitting the cabinet and stopping it, which turned out to be THE engineering problem with it that forced me to engineer another piece of wood in place under the cabinet to make it fit.If the swing arm had been engineered to open all the way without going up past the top of the opener, it would have worked out fine, no matter what. But because that's not the case, I basically had to extend the height of the opener to MAKE that happen.Because of the way the screws are designed to work to attach the opener to the bottom of a cabinet that doesn't have this issue, this "upgrade" I was forced to undertake was no small task.In the end, I'm happy with the WAY it works, but not the way it didn't fit MY cabinet's underside because of a really small engineering flaw of the opener's design.

Great can opener
I had a black and decker can opener before I got this one and I loved it. My can opener started to go bad. I know what your thinking how does a can opener go bad. This is how mine was going bad. When it would start to open cans it would stop like half way and get stuck. This happen sometimes not all the time. So I was thinking what could be wrong. Is the motor going bad or something else I can't see or is the cutting blade bad. So I figure I would sharpen the cutting blade and see what happens. I did such a good job sharpening the cutting blade it wouldn't even cut a 1/8 of an inch. Now I found out what the problem was but I made it worse. After several attempt to try to sharpen it I came to this conclusion. Just get a new one. So I started looking for an under cabinet can opener and I was shocked at the prices 30 to 50 bucks for a can opener. I could just go to the dollar store and get a regular hand one. Then I came across this place on amazon and found this one for 19.99 plus shipping. I think shipping was 8 dollars but if your order is over 25 dollars you get free shipping. So I could get one can opener for a total of 30 dollars shipped to me or I could get 2 can openers shipped to me for 40 dollars. I pick the two so I would have a spare one and it only cost me 10 dollars more. The can opener works great it doesn't even cut the paper label on the side like the old one did.

A Good Choice!
I took a long time to decide on this one. The reviews that I had read went from extremely negative to extremely positive. I felt challenged to make an informed, intelligent decision. Though I had an earlier version of this can opener in a previous home - that operated flawlwssly - a lot of reviewers did not like this unit. Still, I had no other reasonable choices for an under-the-counter can opener, and the department manager at a Bed, Bath, and Beyond store spoke highly of the Black and Decker units, though that store did not carry this item. I finally just decided to try it and see. I ordered one and installed it; it was less that $25.00. The provided spacers were required to attach it under the lip of the overhead cupboard. I wanted to do a flush-mount, but could not, due to my cupboard design. It is mounted properly - with the spacers, and hangs down about 1/4 inch below the lip. It was easy to install, it looks good, and it has worked flawlessly (so far). I thought the hum of the motor sounded rough, as other reviewers have said, but it works good and it does its job. And I only have to listen to the motor while I am opening a can. The other thing that I like is that the opener holds the can in place after the motor stops. And it cleared counter space of an old Sunbeam unit that had out-lived its usefulness in my home.

Fits perfect --- Priced perfect -- Works perfect!!
This is the second B&D Model CO85 can opener we have purchased ... the previous one lasted almost 4 years -- But believe me when I tell you, during that time that can opener opened A LOT of cans!! We have owned other more-expensive make and model can openers prior to the B&D and they did not last any longer or out-perform the B&D -- In fact, there were a few type cans the others would not open, but the B&D opens them all. Most counter top openers because of their size and height are not able to accommodate taller type cans, which meant we would have to break out the old hand-twist opener which was slow, cumbersome, and a nuisance! The "Spacemaker" is a good name for it because its compact size mounts and fits well beneath the cabinet, it does not hang too low, and it truly does save and make valuable counter space! It opens a variety of different size cans effortlessly ... big cans, small cans, tall cans, short cans, usually within less than 6-7 seconds. The automatic stop and non-drop feature is also very nice. The twenty bucks the B&D costs makes it reasonably and affordably priced, and it performs every bit a well and lasts just as long as some of those higher priced under-cabinet can openers. I would recommend the B&D CO85 to anyone looking for an affordable and reliable under-cabinet can opener!

Good looking, quiet
Rating slipped from 5 starts because of two things. (1) No mounting template was provided, instead the instructions advised using a spacer to mark the holes. That didn't work for me, the unit bumped up against under-cabinet lighting, so I had to build an extension. I put the unit onto a flatbed scanner and made my own. (2) Four mounting screws were provided, one of them was defective although it looked OK, it would not thread.

Absolutely love it!
We had this same model for years until it finally opened its last can. We shopped many of the big name stores looking for the same model and couldn't find can openers that mounted under the cupboard at all (most didn't even have electric can openers). I have should have known to check Amazon first. We ordered it on a Friday evening, and had it Tuesday (without asking for expedited delivery). It looks great and works even better. I would definitely order from this dealer again.

This can opener works great and saves counter space. I had the original B&D under couter opener for about 25years until the magnet broke off.My only complaint with the new model would bethat I wish the new model was shaped more like the old one (tapered towards the back of the cupboard.

Very nice
I was very pleased with this can opener. I mounted it in the cupboard above my stove. It is a little high and I am still getting the hang of how to place the can into the can opener, but very pleased with mechanism and unit as a whole.

Definitly Opens Cans, and saves space.
I purchased this to replace our 20 year old black and decker spacemaker opener. This one works just as well and hopefully it will last just as long. One thing to consider is that they changed the mounting pattern on this one just enough that I had to drill new mounting holes in the cabinet. Luckily the large plastic fender washers made the existing holes almost invisible.
