Nostalgic, but not the Tiswas experience
The joy of watching Tiswas in the 1970s was that everyone in the ATV studios clearly had such fun making it. Many of us knew we shouldn't really be watching it -- in my case, I should have been in the university libraries -- but it was the sheer appeal of something that was nominally supposed to be for children. But Tiswas was a live production in which almost anything could happen -- the complete opposite of a DVD compilation, unless you play it in 'Shuffle' mode. Also the pace of this 'Greatest Hits' DVD is nothing like the Saturday morning experience, where the two or three hours included many fillers (such as pop videos, ads and Disney clips) to get your expectations raised for the next piece of studio mayhem.Pracitically anyone who was anyone in the 1970s appeared in this show -- well, anyone with a sense of fun and a willingness to be in Birmingham at the weekend -- and in this DVD, you'll see Michale Palin, Dennis Waterman, Steve Davis, Benny from 'Crossroads', the real Trevor MacDoughnutt etc etc.The picture quality varies, but who cares?155 minutes of nostalgia, warmly recommended, but don't expect your kids to appreciate it as much as you did.

TV WHEN IT WAS BRILLIANT!
I was delighted to see that clips of this were available, since it was a live show and therefore not recorded. Fortunately, some of the episodes were recorded and there are some real gems, such as when Trevor McDonald turned up and surprised Lenny Henry! This was my guilty pleasure as a teenager every Saturday and I guess lots of parents too!If you want to go back in time and see how television was at its best - buy this!

It's great but there's nothing new here.
If you bought Best Of The Best Bits! More Of The Best Bits! and Tiswas Comedy Capers on VHS back in the 1990s then you will already have this on tape. This is just the three VHS compilations put together on DVD so don't expect anything new.

Brilliant
This is like going back in time. No, this is like going back to Saturday mornings when they were great. Hangover, cup of tea and TISWAS. All the best things are here. Tarrant when he was funny. Carrot when he was funny, Carson - well Carson may be a poor man's Tommy Cooper but he's always funny. Best of all, lots of Sally James. Sometimes wet! Good to see Trevor East as well. Kudos. Acts of the time gleefully joining in and of course The Bucket of Water Song. I may have to watch it again.

Fast Delivery
I've bought this as a gift as part of a memory box for my sister's 40th birthday. Fast delivery and arrived in one piece. I hope my sister loves this as much as she used too when we were growing up.
