Good sound quality...
This is my first in-ear-canal earphone. The sound quality is really good.I also have Bose IE2 and I can comfortably say that Cowon made a good job here. But I had a little problem. When I listen something at low sound levels while walking or exercising, I here the sound of the cord, its friction, and it is really annoying. As I said, this is my first time with an "in-ear-canal earphone" and I don't know if this is normal. But it is really annoying.

excellent buy
These are pretty simple and plain looking In-ear head phones. I picked these up on a whim. Not really expecting much out of them . What I found was that these ear phones actually sounded a lot better than some of my higher priced head phones. These are not the mighty low $$ head phones the will slay the mighty $ 80-150 head phone but ... These easily can go head to head with some of the higher priced in-ear phones that run up to 60$ price range like: V-MODA Metal , Klipsch Image S3 & S4 , Monster 133262 ,Ultimate Ears SuperFi 4 & Logitech Ultimate Ears 350vi. The cabling is done really well. It's a thick flat rubberized plastic that does not tangle much and can take some abuse. I've dropped my Cowon D2 about a dozen times while holding onto just the ear pieces to see if the wiring would come loose and everything staying intact. I can not say that for any of the Ultimate Ears. I'm currently using the headphones with a Nokia 920 , Samsung s3 & SGH-1917 phones , Cowon D2 & z2. The mic / play pause button does not work with the Cowon devices and does not work on Windows 7.5 or 8 phones. So the upsides to the EM1 are their price + performance / sound . the negatives for them are the pause / play button and mic do not work with Cowon & Windows OS phones. One tip I can give for any buyers out there who pick the Cowon EM1s up is to remove the ear pieces and then remove the black cloth / film that is covering the EM1's speaker area... this will get rid of the slight muffle sound you experience when you crank up the volume this will also increase the volume a bit too.

I've got Panasonic earphones that were less than $8 and are many many times better than these
These cowon earphones are definitely not worth the price. They are very cheaply made and the sound is just alright. I've got Panasonic earphones that were less than $8 and are many many times better than these. I suppose the only good thing about these is the cord doesn't tangle.

Some of the best headphones for the price
Some of the best headphones for the price. Mid range is a little over powering which can lead to the quality of sound being distorted at times, but for the cheap price its expected. Also really love the flat style of the chord, really prevents the chord from tangling. Would buy again when looking for a pair around $25.

Tough little guy with good sound for price.
Bought in 2016Used for a year.Really good headest for the price. I am no audiophile so I can't really dissect the quality of each sound. Then again at the price range you shouldn't be. Performs well overall and the wires hold up very well under rough use. If you are someone like me who is careless enough to use it everywhere, go ahead and buy these.

Cowon EM1 the best pair of earphones in this prize range.
The best pair of earphones at the prize range and ever higher!! These are second pair(misplaced the first one). Been using them since a year and they never disappointed. The mid range is a little overpowering but the lows and highs are perfect. The bass is very balanced and doesn't overpower the music. The noise cancellation is very good too!! The cable is the best in these, it's a flat wire and doesn't get tangled even after placing them in the pocket! The mic is very responsive and clear during calls. For this prize don't think much. Just go for it!!

Cheap Chinese Copybrand earphones. Please don't buy. Worst earphones. Seller giving only 6 months warranty.
Worst earphones till date.Guys please don't buy this earphone trust me i m regretting buying them. Go for any other brand but this.At first reading all the positive reviews i went for these COWON EM1 earphone. I wanted this one for my smartphone and computer use.I bought them a year ago at Rs. 999 (One with the mic and button) and the left side stopped working after 8 months and later when i came back to check on amazon for the warranty period covered, to my dismay i found out that COWON only provides warranty of '6 months' while other brands like SONY or SENNHEISER or JBL provide warranty between 1 to 2 years ( Mostly 2 years).Do check SENNHEISER cx180 which are best selling and cover 2 years of warranty or JBL T150A which also cover 2 years of warranty.I used COWON EM1 earphones only at home and didn't carry them in my bag still the earphone failed to work properly even after careful handling.I also own SONY MW600 bluetooth earphones which after even bad handling haven't failed. Now coming to the pros and cons of this earphones-=Pros=-:Vocals are crystal clear and bass is ok ok(Since they leak sound)Flat type cable which doesn't tangle and are sturdy which don't breakWill connect to most smartphones and even to your Computer audio output-=Cons=-:They leak sound from the other side since it has holes on the back side because of which the person sitting besides you can listen in on your conversation. (Zero Privacy)There is only R symbol mentioned on right side and that too on the inside and no L symbol on left side.Only a single button to attend to calls, disconnect calls, play, pause musicLook bulky a bit like those sold on streets.Only 6 months warranty so if they stop working even a day later you are screwed for buying such costly earphonesUnlike sony earphones these have straight earbuds so one can't wear for more than an hour and will experience ear pain. They are dirt magnet as they easily attract dirt if kept aside for a while. These are either the copy brand or some chinese made local earphones not worth even Rs.400 considering only 6 months of warranty.Guys whichever earphone you choose to buy please please please check the period of warranty. Longer period is better as you won't end up losing money like i did

Excellent earphone with balanced sound and admirable noise cancellation
Excellent earphone with balanced sound and admirable noise cancellation. Ear buds are comfortable for fairly prolonged use. The flat cables are of good quality and more importantly are tangle free. Sound quality out of the box I must admit was a bit tinny. After 3 weeks of Burn-in, the output drastically improved. As it stands, after 9 months of usage, sound quality is absolutely top notch. You can hear the subtle nuances in Instrumentals and other sounds which lower grade buds would generally muffle. Go for it, you will not regret.

82/100!
I am a sennheiser fan who wanted to try something different. I spend a lot on earphones but I don't buy costly ones (except for brainwavez M2, M4). This is what I think about Cowon EM1 which I have been used for about 12 hours now:Pro's:1. Completely worth your 1K.2. Good build quality.3. Gold plated jack.4. Nice bass (considering they cost 1k)5. Nice details.6. Mic looks premium and does its job.7. The cable ends i.e. the jack side and ear bud side are well secured, you don't have to be scared of either of them falling off.Con's:1. Ear buds aren't exactly comfortable. If you fall asleep wearing them it might hurt in the morning.2. I have seen better noise isolation in this price segment. That could have been better.Note:1. The flat chord is a bit randomly twisted. Which annoys me. Not a huge problem but I wouldn't recommend these for OCD people!2. The ones without mic cost 700 Rs. 300 Rs. for mic? Seriously?Verdict: I would score them 82/100 ( considering price, quality, build, looks)For 999 Rs. they are just great. But if you don't need a mic I cannot think of a better option for 700 Rs.Must buy!

Cowon for your Smartphone Music
First experienced Cowon earphones when i purchased the brilliant iaudio MP3 for my wife a few years ago,but she eventually opted for in-ear Sennheiser buds.Likewise I wanted in-ear buds for my Nokia E520 Windows Phone because the Nokia supply were useless as were Panasonic and Betron Wood in-ear buds.I still use those standard Cowon Earphones with my Laptop and love them but I needed in-ear for my phone and was i pleased Mr Amazon came up trumps for £20 ESPECIALLY AS THEY GIVE ME VOLUME & BASS.Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzie now have the same sound as produced on their albums as it should be!

Nice sound but won't last long
Don't go for this pair of earphones if you are a heavy music listener and want some longevity. I bought this pair in January after choosing from a wide variety of available pairs including likes of sony, sennheiser, jbl. Initially it worked great with an amazing sound quality. All of a sudden, in mid may both of its earpiece stopped working without any damage. No idea why. I think there are better earphones in the market which will provide the same or even better sound quality and will last long too.
